Work Out Music
-
Like my 80s music too but can't work out to it.<br />
<br />
Prefer to lift to metal, hard rock or punk music. Really gets me cranking. Currently workout playlist has the likes of Faith No More, Anthrax, bit of Van Halen, Metallica, Slayer, Shihad, The Living End etc<br />
<br />
For cardio I can listen to just about anything. Sometimes just watch the breakfast news etc -
cardio - say no to Billy Joel!! last year before national was treadmilling it each night at the gym. Queen was good and lively numbers that you could get with the beat, but Billy Joel NOOOOOO!! Things where the beat would speed up and slow down good, as I would change my pace to fit and it was much more enjoyable.<br />
<br />
I like older music too, being an old fart - the Queen, Split Enz type era. Think it was Split Enz greatest hits cd 1 that was my best treadmill mover and shaker!! -
Geez Bart, I'll be lifting weights with JK well before you by the looks of things <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mocking.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':mocking:' />

lol, that's cardio, lifting weights, I don't really care - whatever the gym has going. Hell, I've only just got rid of my WALKMAN, and upgraded to a CD-MAN. That's how much I'm into music...! Last CD I bought (you still buy CD's) would have been, um, Queen's greatest hits, when it was first released probably, or was that a double album...!!

definitely some winding going on in here today lol<br />
<br />
One of my mates found her old discman - her 12 year old had no idea what it was. Laughed his ass off when he saw how it worked tho. Not sure if my mate was playing Queen though... -
I am sure I still have my first 'tape' somewhere if you want <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /><br />

If im gonna listen to 80s stuff in the gym it'll be something like The Cars...still one of my favs.<br />
<br />
<br />
Great track and out of it video. Cutting edge for those days.<br />
<br />
<br />
Actually had one of the lads come up this morning and ask me what I was listening to. They werent suprised when I said Megadeth and Ministry - I must have been cranking away pretty dam instensely <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ireful.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ireful:' /> -
Love the old ipod for training music - can set up loads of playlists for different moods, exercises and access them v. quickly. <br />
<br />
Boxing/Punch bag - the only time I'll listen to Rap, it just seems to work. "Mama said knock you out" and I will! <br />
<br />
For cycling love listening to new albums all the way through (currently working my way through Black Keys and Rolling Stones back catalogue)<br />
<br />
For Running/KBs - I need guitar based rock to keep me going - Zep, Jane's Addiction, Rolling Stones, Strokes, Sisters of Mercy, Motorhead, Raconteurs, Weezer, Muse, Ramones, Kings of Leon, Black Keys - all on current list.<br />
<br />
For Floor exercises/stretching I usually go for something more mellow - currently an old Turin Brakes album Jackinabox hits the spot.<br />
<br />
Like to change music and exercise routines quite often to keep it fresh. I honestly think one of the reasons I can go to the gym more often these days is the ease of access to tons of different tracks. I usually train alone so it makes a big difference. -

Billy Joel? I iike his work but Piano Man and Rythm of the Night don't exactly get the blood pumping. Have just added some music from some of the great 80s films like Top Gun, Kickboxer, Transformers the Movie, Commando and Rocky III. Nothing comes close to the 80s in terms of montage music.<br />
<br />
Tani: Ha ha. My first tape for my first ever walkman was Bryan Adams Waking up the Neighbours. Summer of 69 and All for Love would be worthy additions to workout music. -
Bring the noise by Public enemy/Anthrax. Guaranteed to increase deadlifting ability by 50%.<br />
<br />
Can someone make Bart a mix CD of something decent ? <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/eusa_whistle.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistle:' /> -

Brilliant track for a workout on the bag is Supergroove's 'Can't get enough', just tune into the beat and try and keep up for the duration of the song. Guaranteed to have you sweating at the end.
