Crusaders Team v French Barbarians

the 8, Baptiste Pesenti out cold hitting his head on the hip of someone as he went to tackle them.
Obviously the owner of the hip lined up his head deliberately in a callous move designed to take advantage of the leniency afforded to NZ teams.

score ?
28-14 at half time. To Crusaders.
I didn't even know it was on in Oz, but was checking the channels while watching the Warriors and saw it was being shown.

That would mean I was actively seeking to watch the Crusaders ... nope.

@taniwharugby Not sure - leg injury of some sort. Went off with arms over the shoulders of two medics.

So, and that was France's second national XV? Utterly useless. They may not have had much time together, but they're stacked with Top 14 caps and several internationals. And they can't beat a side with only a few regular starters, most bench or 3rd string players and 6 debutants. And what was up with those guys constantly looking for a scrap? Lots of aggression in that team; I guess that's frustration?

@nepia He came to the Mako$ about three seasons ago as a loan player from Canterbury - as usual, we developed him, capped him, and handed him back.
You could have handed him back to us ....

Baa-baas had a scrum and a lineout drive, but didn't show a lot else. Handling let them down pretty frequently. Actually, I'm not sure a scrum got completed once Coxon got out there, but his opposite milked things pretty effectively. Our starting front row stood up pretty well.
Add Dunshea to the list of Crusaders who had good games - Israel got some nice touches in the second half - as did Whetu Douglas.
Didn't see a lot of the young midfielders.

@chris-b I stopped watching for a bit, what did Macilai do to himself?
Couldn't watch the game properly last night with a room full of people, so watched the first half again and saw Macilai tripping over a French foot/leg. That was all that happened, but he seemed to have injured his ankle.
