The Humanity Bureau! Featuring Nic Cage.
Please take the time to watch this! It is incredibly bad. I’m half way through and can’t stop as I have to see how they end this!

Sorry to quote myself but please PLEASE watch this movie. I don't want to the only person on this planet that has done so!
For fuck's sake, I had to watch this to see what you were talking about.
30 seconds in - they pretty much show their hand with the atrocious quality of the green-screening.
And the rest of it... just, what the fuck. Absolutely no redeeming features.
0 wooden Nic Cage faces in front of 5 green-screen-sitting-in-cars.
Fuck you @Hooroo , just... fuck you. (smiley face wink whatever)Thank you! Thank you so much. I feel vindicated. What a relief! Let's see how many people we can get to watch this atrocity!!

@hooroo I watched it for the first time and just don't get the love for it. I think it had been so hyped I was expecting something that expanded the boundaries of the genre a bit more. It's no Deadpool in that regard
Yeah there were some amusing moments - but that's all I found them a bit of a smile rather than a guffaw.
I found it incredibly formulaic and more than a bit meh
Each to their own I guess

Both the Deadpools are great, but, are you sure you didn't stumble on to Thor 2 by accident.
Anyway, watched Superfly last night (cheap movies for the month of August means there's no quality control). Interesting 'drug dealer/gangsta' movie remake of the 70s blaxploitation movie.
Kind of not good, but not bad, but not good. Had some ok action scenes and the cast included Omar. The lead seemed too young for the role (I'd never seen him before) and when
@jegga There's boobies and @Mokey a lesbian scene and there's some car scenes for the car porn people out there.
Wouldn't recommend that anyone pay money for it but it wasn't the worst 2 hours I've ever had in my life.

Saw Gone Girl the other night. As much as I dislike Assflick he was very good in this, entertaining watch with an interesting twist at the end. Probably one of those movies where the book can capture the story a bit better, but enjoyed it overall. 4 cheating husbands out of 5 psychotic wives.

@no-quarter I really enjoyed that movie. Sweet Rosamund Pike deserved awards for her bonkers soulless housewife role, and Ben Affleck and Neil Patrick Harris were good also. It's good storytelling when you keep changing sides as to what happened.
-
Black Swan. Actually quite enjoyed this. Natalie Portman certainly deserved that Oscar.

Trading Places
What a great romp. Eddie Murphy is funny as fuck and there are so many top comedic moments involving him and any number of zany supporting characters. Also once you get over Jamie Lee Curtis's boy haircut you get to appreciate the fact she whips out one of the most banging pair of tits ever seen on screen.

Enjoyed it.
Rate Logan Marshall-Green -
The Meg - It's a shark movie that's not good and I kept wanting to tell it to shut up but it has some silly moments that are funny and Jason Statham is a good action hero. Also the kid actors in it are cute, Ruby Rose is hot for a lesbian and Rainn Wilson can't really act. 4/10

Thought it was a movie about Justin Marshall's hair so have ignored it.

Saw Mission Impossible: Fallout last night. This was a brilliant followup to MI: Rogue Nation. The film had a clever ending which arrived after a pulsating two hours of action. There were nods to the past, like the old school appearance of the self destructing player, and the obligatory rubber masks, a couple of high octane chases, and some good value punch ups. The finale was real white knuckle stuff and showcased a beautiful part of NZ. 5 apostles out of 5 small pox outbreaks

The Snowman
If you want a creepy atmospheric thriller then Fassbender is your man. That dude is seriously creepy.
And in this he's the good guy. Your typical morose damaged good guy as played by Fassbender.
Anyway, serial killer movie set in Norway.
It's not a bad premise, and the set up is okay, but the execution is fucking poor, and i picked the bad guy/twist very early on.

@mariner4life was pretty damn slow too IIRC.

Pacing is so difficult to get correct when it comes to suspense movies. Too fast and you can't get the mood established. Too slow and people fall asleep before the credits, or once they've identified the obvious twist.

I think I gave up on that quite early on.
I'd read the book a while ago - which I think might have not helped... as I was trying to figure out who each character was, earlier than I was probably supposed to... rather than letting the film reveal things as it wanted.
I seem to recall the version I, ah, purchased - had the sound slightly out-of-sync - and getting worse... which certainly didn't help.
Also distracted by the fact it was a really weird book in the series to start with also, if they were considering a possible franchise. -

Yeah, I was going to summarise with "It was just shit", but I think "just fucken [sic] boring]" is more accurate.
