yeah I watched it, was decent, rushed ending though.
@Hooroo Dont watch the Haunting of Hill House on Netflix then bro, that'll def have you up at night
No chance of me watching that purely because of the title.
Bird Box suckered me in... I thought it was a metaphor...
It was stressful as fuck. The kind of movie you regret watching halfway through but then have to finish it to see what the fuck happens in the end.
The end kind of sucked for me. Yeah cool, they were saved but no detail on what was smoking them and also how they could 'kill' it
Well fuck... Guess I can take that off the watch list...
I'm actually really sorry about that. I wasn't thinking about I was giving the end away, more that I was having a conversation about it.
I will try and remember to Spoiler it next time.
My Bad!
So I finally watched Bird Box. Thought it started off well but then slipped away, didn't give me anything close to the shivers of Hill House.
About half an hour in I was loudly proclaiming "where's all the fucken blind people?!".
Anyway my theory.... How do we spoiler now?
SPOILER LOOK AWAY
HERE IT COMES, KEEP SCROLLING
some kinda Armageddon
OK IT'S DONE
I'm not sure if Michael Jackson actually died or changed identity and came back as Sandra Bulloch
Yeah I was mesmerised every time there was a close up and it appeared there was actually a 5 o'clock shadow on that strapping chin.

At risk of being labelled a 'soy boy' by those on the political correctness threads...
I really enjoyed the new Mary Poppins movie. The original was one I grew up with, and this new one hit the beats perfectly. Emily Blunt and Lin Manuel-Miranda were both excellent, too.
Not sure how it would go down if you weren't familiar with the original though.

I took the wife to the live musical a few years back as she has always loved the story. Was awesome. Probably won't bother seeing this at the movies but will have a look when it's available to stream.
Now excuse me while I go throw my Gillette shavers in the bin to regain some of my masculinity.

I'm honestly not too sure, but it seems to be a term used for men who like that Gillette ad, and I assume enjoy whimsical musical movies.
Also people who use the word whimsical to describe musicals they’ve seen

I'd post a pic of a bikini-clad actress here to get my masculine Fern cred back, but alas I'm at work... and also a part of the radical-left intelligentsia who are slowly taking over society.

Wasn't there a thread sometime back, at least a couple of years about the various face products used by Ferners?
Now that was good for a laugh or two.

I think soyboys are guys who completely forgo any form of masculine pursuit to the point they no longer have any need of their cock and bollocks. You like rugby, hence you can't be a soyboy. Also nothing wrong with some of that girly shit. Sometimes it's even nice to have an excuse to watch it.

The path to being a soy boy starts with that girly shit mate, then a musical or two and before you know it you’re tucking your chutney ferret and balls between your thighs and dancing naked in front of a mirror to a Bangles song .
Stop the rot now, say no to Mary Poppins.

The Soyboy thing is a bit of a joke..but not entirely:
Estrogen levels decrease during menopause, leading to symptoms like hot flashes. Since soy acts as a natural estrogen, it may help reduce these symptoms. In a review of 35 studies, soy isoflavone supplements raised estradiol (estrogen) levels in postmenopausal women by 14% (13)
..and when soylatte guzzzling Buzzfeed journalists tested their own testosterone levels..well no-one was surprised

@mariner4life as long as your not also keeping ladies in pits for dressmaking purposes, it's all good
