@jegga People try and copyright words all the time. Usually they get shut down and told to piss off, but occasionally some get through.
I would be interested to see how 'Boomfa' beer sold. Personally I think it would be entirely reliant on taste/price, because the word is not nearly as cool as he clearly thinks it is.
Never underestimate a shit beer with a foolproof marketing campaign aimed at the lowest common denominator.
I thought you liked Leigh Hart?
The very first name which popped into my head when reading that was "Wakachangi" - and I had to double-check it was you that'd written it, as it seemed a laser-focused jab at that shit beer and shit ... "comedian"(?).I was waiting for this . The goal mouth was left open .

My recycling bin suggests my son and I find it more than quite tolerable.
Regardless of good or bad Boomfa tastes I will hold drinkers of it in the same amount of contempt I hold men who watch married at first sight .

@canefan gotta say, when I was living in the UK and had been drinking Fosters, Stella, XXXX and whatever other tap beers they made there for a year, when I played for London Kiwis and they had £1 stubbies of Export Gold, I thought it was the best tasting beer ever...
I am slowly finding alot of the Craft beers are starting to go too far and I'm not really enjoying the taste, particularly when you are paying a shit load more.
Beers like Export (Wakachangi, Sol, Corona et al) have thier place!

Totally agree. I like a dirty Speights, Lion Red or Corona as much as a nice can of Garage Project, I'm no beer snob!

Agree and disagree with this.
Too much Craft beer wank is not a good thing but a brilliant IPA or APA from Panhead or Lakeman definitely has it's place in my heart.
-
@MN5 I guess point is, I have my faves, but I also try a different or new craft beer whenever the opportunity arises (am out for lunch today so will no doubt find one to try) and many, particularly IPAs seem to be becoming quite hoppy and bitter...I am finding Pilsners generally better though, although got a Stoke Pilsner in the fridge at home and tastes more like an IPA.

deserves to go here....

@taniwharugby Wow, if Stuff could be summed up in one image. I'm surprised there isn't an article there linking him to Trump and the alt-right yet.
-
@Donsteppa am sure there will be one there, just more likely not in thier 'sports' section and with a much less prominent place on the page

nice to see after Christchurch shootings that NZ news cycle has returned to normal. No, I did not doctor any of this news article from today.
Don't knock it mate. If anyone thinks NZ isn't generally a pretty good safe place to live then that is evidence to support the idea

Apart from the obvious trip hazard.

That would irk me too. Christ, I've become old.

Of course you're old. You said "irk" whereas you would have said "that would piss me off too".
Old. You're old.

I wonder what percentage of the heralds stories come from social media and reddit ?

@jegga Honestly, one of the reasons I left Fairfax all those moons ago (apart from the fucking shit pay) was the insidious and relentless creep of advertorials. Where some business would pay for a certain size ad and get an article of x number of words to accompany it.

The whole herald site is an ad for countdown Easter eggs . I’ll be honest and admit I’m going to score some Easter eggs on the way home now but does reek a bit of desperation. I’m guessing some of their staff might want to look at alternative careers, perhaps in coding ?

How many have fucked their lives worse then him? Not many if any...(Sorry @MN5 hacked my account)
