@NTA think I am upto ep 4 maybe?
As with most of this genre, it relies on stupid people.
Case in point, think ep 4
:::
the idiot was in the fire station, prime place to hole up, or use a fire engine as your vehicle, they'll be fuelled up, keys will be there.
:::
Up to episode 8, the last episode. Enjoyed the first few but it's gotten quite frustrating as it has progressed.
The film/video style as @NTA described very aptly which I thought worked for a bit but then just got annoying. The individual story lines and surviving characters have now converged.
A little FYI, this series was originally meant to be a bit of a prequel to Z Nation - comes from the same team - but with less humour. There's also a bit of GoT about it in that many of the significant Characters haven't survived.
One thing, this series is about as humourless as it can be and they have now distanced themselves from the original premise and completely removed any ties to Z Nation. More of a straight forward Zombie series, not bad CGI and reasonable writing.
Some of the handheld shots get very stomach churning.
Will watch the last episode tonight.
I finished it last night, it was nothing like Z nation at all which was good . Liked that they weren’t afraid to kill off main characters.
Chubby bearded guy is a liability, he deserves to die.
Korean lady is an interesting idea.
The scene in the city square is great , really chaotic .
Would have liked to see more of the creepy kids .

Finished "After Life" agree with comments above, great show, best thing from Gervais in a long time and that is speaking as someone who isn't generally a fan of his. I was a bit gutted to see there was only 6 episodes..sat down last night with some takeaway to watch the 7th. Not to be.
-
@NTA haha yep, not only was he f*cking stupid, he couldnt even swing an axe...only thing he did correctly (I assume, not watched ep 5) was at the very end of the ep.
I mean when he was chased through the supermarket and out the fire exit, with the zombie hard on your tail, go out the door and swing in behind, let the zombie fly out, you go back in, shut the door...boom safe.
Am about half way through Seal Team...decent series, most of the action stuff seems pretty good. Lead character (David Boreanaz) is a dick...esp an ep where they did an op with the SAS...all dick waving USA USA...best character on it is Sonny.

Or just barricade the front doors of the supermarket that have motion detectors*, instead of leaving every single door behind you ready for a zombie to charge through.
*Speaking of that supermarket: 1) Why isn't it looted? 2) How is the electricity on if it has been 6 weeks since shit went south?

Binged on Billions while it was on Netflix (Australian version) seasons 1,2 and 3. Got to all but last 3 episodes of season 3 and now it's no longer available on Netflix.
Thought I'd abuse a free trial on Showtime but for US viewers only to sign up.
How can I watch the 3 missing episodes?
Less important: why the limited release time ( 2 weeks i reckon) of these shows on Netflix? Terribly annoying
-
@taniwharugby lol Yanks don't have a huge amount of renewables because their electricity is cheap as fuck - about half what you or I pay.
Mostly I was being a grid nerd: there isn't enough automation in a market grid to keep everything balanced and running with the cycle of energy up and down. Even if the whole apocalypse started at just the right time of day for the median demand, supply won't change unless someone is pulling the levers and responding to demand.
Even street lights going on and off across municipalities in the USA would create system blacks without management.

@Nepia I still enjoy them for what they are, I bailed on TWD too, and think this one is doing ok, but I wont be committing long term if it tries to go on forever like TWD, which is where they struggle.
Is just frustrating that they make people out to be incredibly stupid...I mean most have yet to work out shooting the feckers in the head is how you deal with them.

That opening scene, I'm looking at the all the perfectly manicured lawns thinking "OK shit just kicked off - we're seeing the first week of this. What kind of zombies we got?" assuming this town might just have had the plague reach them.
-
@NTA I reckon they need to do one that focusses more around the just before and just after the world descends...think it was ep 2 of FTWD, which I thought was fucking excellent (as for the rest ) because after the collapse into chaos and anarchy and running away from zombies, your story lines do become limited, although TWD did well for a while...

I don't think I can watch another zombie show after the The Walking Dead (I don't miss it after finally pulling the plug last year), from reading the thread it seems that every zombie show has to have characters do utterly stupid things for the drama.
There’s a great scene in a town square where everyone is either armed to the teeth or a zombie and the carnage that ensues makes it worth watching.
There’s also a chubby fluffybunny with a beard that acts like he’s been mainlining soy his whole life and somehow lasts more than a day .
Liked the Korean chick , great call to make her unable to speak English.

the only vaguely Zombie related show/movie I'll ever get excited about is a potential sequel to 28 weeks later. Other than that the genre has completely done it's dash

Finished S1 of The Rookie, with Nathan Fillon as the lead who decides to join the LAPD after some big changes in his life.
Fairly light hearted cop show, decent easy watch.
@Bones yep, Bosch is great, I am 2 eps in too.
-
@taniwharugby 5 episodes in now and it's bloody hard to stop watching!
Tried the rookie but just got a bit too bullshit for us eh.
-
Finished Bosch.
Consistently excellent.
Roll on season 6.
