Movie review thread...

@taniwharugby good to hear you liked it. I never saw the original and was looking forward to seeing it, but I was hesitant after all the underwhelming critic reviews.

F the critics, they all seem to want exactly the same type of movie no matter what they see. They panned Godzilla: King of the Monsters which was absolutely awesome, I really don't know what they expected going into a movie like that. A plot? Why would we want a plot getting in the way of monsters smashing up entire cities?

Toy Story 4
Meh. It was an enjoyable romp but didn't really hit the heights of 3.
Can't see how they can extend to a 5th given the story so a lttle bit of a let fizzle to end the saga. Room was not at all dusty like it was at the end of 3.
And apparently quite scary for the littlees. The ventriloquist dummies and Gabby Gabby were quite sinister.
But 3 Duckies out of 5 Bunnies.
Lion King tomorrow.

The Lion King
Best movie I have seen in a long long time.
Even knowing the story - and most of the lines - it was still awesome.
Ms boo jr demanded I take her ...
... ok we both wanted to go. Mrs Boo didn't so was a cool dad-daughter outing. Cool that 16yo didn't mind hanging with embarrassing parent.
Nice to relive one of her staple weekend afternoon baby sitting devices of her childhood.
To be ultra picky I did miss some of my favourite lines ("the monkey's his uncle?"), but enjoyed some of the enhancements (the more sinister hyenas, the line "look at you, you've gained 400lbs since we started this song ...").
Every hakuna out of all the matatas.

Random but coo (imho)l fact after the original came out Hakuna Matata became one of the most popular boat names in the states.

@booboo I liked the 2 hyenas and Rogan as Pumba...I know they all had some comedy in the first one but they did add to it.
I did feel they toned down the whole Mufasa death part though, either that or this theatre had been sucked dry of all the dust...
