Might be a wake up call for the Brexit party as well that splitting the vote could cost them Brexit

I see the UK advert ban has come into effect. Woman next to a pram..well that's a harmful stereotype you bigots! All hail equality!

@Rembrandt I find it incredible that people think companies are dictating to the market what each gender should be interested in. No matter how hard the social constructionists try, they'll never be able to get rid of the biological and evolutionary factors that affect the interests of men and women; in this case men being more likely to take risks and women being more likely to be nurturing.
You have to wonder if the people behind this stuff even exist in the real world, or if they're just on Twitter 24/7 rarely venturing outside? It's bizarre.

Not sure if this is the right place but apparently BA are deporting migrants. Pretty sure that means I can get a free trip home?

Political extremist who openly advocates for political violence cries foul after (apparently) becoming the victim of political violence.
So place your bets.
- This is Boris country!
- Nazis! Far Right! TR on the loose!
- Lovers tiff
- Random blokes sick of his mouthing off for the night finally caved to punching the most punch-able face in Britain
I notice there is no description of the perpetrators...yet they are appealing for witnesses..

I don’t condone a beating- if it’s true .He’s heading for a meltdown, he reminds me a bit of Johann Hari . He was a monumental twat for a longtime before losing the plot and then becoming a useful person.

@jegga I don't condone it either but did laugh when I heard about it. He's got tweets in favour of the punch to Richard Spencer (who himself is a fellow collectivist authoritarian toe-rag but still not deserving of random assault), the whole 'punch a Nazi's meme and he has been pro-milkshake attacks recently. He clearly doesn't have any self awareness. Details are super sketchy, bar not mentioned, no observable injuries on him, no description of perpetrators..except of course they must be the 'far right'.
I'm super surprised he didn't just say they were white at least. Kind of like the lesbians who were assaulted a few weeks back.
This to me suggests that an altercation did happen but he is being careful not to lie to the police while still try and milk as political juice as his new found martyrdom will allow.
Anyway surely cctv should help out here.

How does this twat know they are far right if they said nothing during the attack? I hink he underestimates that he's loathed acroos a few different demographics in the Uk and deservedly so the dishonest shrieking clown.
Oh he didn't hear anything because he was too busy getting his head kicked in.

Fortunately they didn't seem to do much visible damage. He hasn't let an opportunity to push his agenda go by either

@jegga yeah he's all over the breakfast news this morning, looking distinctly like a guy that wasn't involved in a group beatdown.
Just looking through his twitter hes also accusing the thugs of cultural appropriation.

Was having a think on the train today, and I've realised the biggest thing I cannot get my head around at the moment.
Given that British democracy / parliament is widely used across the world and viewed as one of the great British backbones, I cannot fathom how there can be such a hole in the setup. How is it possible, that when a government loses majority - either by MP's crossing the floor, by-elections or whatever, it doesn't automatically trigger a mandatory general election? A lost majority means that the government can no longer be representative of the people. Therefore, basic logic means that the people didn't vote in who has the power, subsequently, the basic rule of democracy is lost.
It blows my mind that we can be in a situation where the government has lost majority, and the opposition can be allowed to block an election, which therefore means no legislation can be passed.
That is such a fundamental flaw.

I give BBC a lot of grief in regards to bias but fairplay to them this doco is fairly balanced. Well worth a watch.
Only just saw this post.
To be fair, BBC social documentaries are generally very well done. There are issues in the general presentations and reporting (although I don't think they are as bad as reported), but the indepth documentaries are usually very well done.
