@jegga Stuff put the story up at 10:20pm last night. The byline is Andrea Vance and Alison Mau. It’s a shoddy piece of work, shamelessly stating “Stuff can reveal the woman first reported some of the man's behaviour to senior Labour party figures...” and then continuing on without once crediting Spinoff.
I may be drawing a long bow but I believe the sycophantic coverage of the NZ media outlets has at the very least encouraged the Labour Party to act with impunity in some very suspect situations. The old adage that it’s the cover up that gets you only holds true if the press are interested in exposing the cover up. Instead it’s evident that some of them see their job as offering protection to Labour, as if they have some moral obligation to help the “good guys”. Well this is what that buys you, Stuff. People who think they are above the law.

So spin is clearly that Jacinda didn't know about it - separation of party and caucus - incredibly disappointed - full independent investigation - simply not good enough ….. and Nigel Haworth will get harpooned. Not that he doesn't deserve to go but he shouldn't be the only one.
Paula Bennett was bloody good on Morning Report today. When asked if Haworth should resign "Yes. Now. Last Night!"
Also gave details of exactly when the perp was last seen in parliament which totally contradicts the Labour spin.
Please someone make a police complaint.

@JC Mau is Arderns friend , she’s been getting grief on twitter for her reluctance to cover Labour’s rape culture issue and the way they put party before the victims.
I can’t wait for the next poll , the shine has really gone of this vapid clown

If our media weren’t such servile sycophants there’s so many questions they could ask . For a start the lawyers defence of the most recent summer camp groper , “ it was consensual, you wanted it” doesn’t fit well with the believe women mantra .
Party before victims every time

@jegga My problem is I have such disdain for Hosking that I immediately treat everything he comes out with as the vainglorious musings of a moron - even when the pompous twat is right.
Can’t help but agree completely. Still he is right .

I would like to think that if this happened with the Nats, John Key was very good at cutting out the poison straight away

@Paekakboyz No

@jegga I'm finding it really hard to believe she didn't know anything. So she's either lying, or there are giant communication abysses within the party. Both make her look bad. (Also boo farking hoo to the difficult position blah blah. She is PM. Not to mention it's not anywhere near as difficult as the position those complainants were in.)

@Mokey yeah that interview this morning on Breakfast was odd, if she knew nothing, then she is not a leader, should not be in charge of Labour, let alone running NZ, if she did know and did nothing, she is an even bugger idiot...

She isn't a leader, she is a figurehead. She became PM out of nowhere/ labour caucus after a whirlwind 6 weeks. I don't think a second that she is in control the way Clark or Key were. She swans around while shadow figures do the real work in the background. That doesn't mean to say she didn't know about this though
