Oustanding.
One of the best TV series I have ever seen in my life.
Criminally unknown. -
Currently watching I Am The Night with Chris Pine.
A bit of a mix of LA Confidential & Chinatown but really well done.
-
@Victor-Meldrew Yeah, I enjoyed it.
-
@Victor-Meldrew After reading George Hodel, he seems a likely suspect for the killings!

So those with Prime might like to watch the new series with Orlando Bloom, a bit of a fantasy drama, Carnival Row.
I've just finished watching this. An interesting world they've created and it's setup nicely for season 2.

I've been watching Stumptown, which is about an ex-Veteren who decides to become a PI, had Donal Logue for a couple of eps too.
Light hearted, easy watch.
Also been watching Daybreak on Netflix (a post apocolyptic world where barely any adults survived a bomb, and those that did are zombie-like)
Despite being more aimed at a younger audience, I liked the first few eps, then it kinda went off the rails and is a bit over the top in some of its story lines, but gonna finish just cos I only have 2 eps to go.
Very weird show, kind of enjoyed it . Hilarious when he's signing up to the consent app
This is a really long list.
Yeah, well, there's a lot of different positions, different appetites.
Different people get aroused by different things.
What's pegging?
You wouldn't be interested in that.
A Lucky Pierre?
We can't even do that.
Oh, Strawberry Shortcake.
What's that?
It's not the same as the Cheesecake Factory.
Huh.Also
I just watched this episode and it was pissing me off that he was cock blocking his bloody self through the entire episode. I'm not usually a huge fan of blondes but she has a way about her that's for sure.
Anyway, I'm enjoying the show. It's utterly bonkers which is great.

My current series is The Fall (Gillian Anderson as a detective leading a serial killer case in Belfast, vs Jamie Dornan the serial killer.) S1 and 2 were great, but S3 is very meh. 3 episodes to go, just want to see how they wind it up.
Really liked series 1 but found 2 a bit more of a chore and gave up. Worth persevering you think? All quite bleak from memory.
-
@Catogrande Pretty bloody bleak, lol. I would watch S2. One thing about this series is that they really show the human side of everyone, they get tired, they fuck up, they make split second decisions that have consequences. Even the serial killer is a doting dad.

I thought it was great how she did one of those long self aggrandising speeches about how she’s trying to figure out her place in the world and who’s she’s going to be that American dramas love so much and at the end decided fuck it she’s going to be a massive cnut .
Also she’s hot as fuck . -
I know this has been mentioned in the Star Wars thread but the Mandolorian belongs here as well.
SW stuff aside I love this resurrection of the old weekly TV serial show genre. Eps are short enough that you don't waste time explaining stuff or padding it out but just set up the ep quickly then close it out with some action.
It's like watching 60s TV with better production qualities. If you aren't watching this you are missing out and I somehow feel that waiting to collect a bunch up then binging won't work the same.
-
For me, it comes down finding the time to watch shows and getting value for money on the multiple streaming services.
I'm watching 2 weekly shows on HBO and signed up to Prime to watch a couple more (Man In The High Castle, The Boys), and in preparation for The Expanse starting next week. I'll watch the other Prime shows that interest me, cancel, and then subscribe to D+ to watch The Mandalorian when all 8 episodes are available.

Good tip. I'd been hearing really good things about this show and my circles are generally pretty anti new star wars so that's saying something...now how to convince the Mrs to prioritise this over a shitty relationship drama which fell off a cliff in quality 6 episodes back ('A million little things' - great for the first 80% of the first season..and then not so much)

The eps are only about 30 mins long. I'm sure your missus is probably used to tolerating things shorter than that?
-
@Catogrande Definitely don't bother with S3. It will only infuriate you. The ending is a massive letdown.
-
@taniwharugby It was a really good ding dong battle between detective and serial killer to start. S3 was just fucking bizarre though. The first three episodes were endless, detailed medical stuff for Spector, then it was like they realized oh shit the season is 6 episodes, so crammed in a whole bunch of subplots in the remaining three, half of which were not explained or resolved. The final episode was ludicrous though, in what happened and how things were allowed to end.
