Not sure if this has been mentioned, and I might have Booboo'd:
Giri / Haji.Have to read half of it from subtitles, but pretty good.
I thought that until the final episode.

New Band of Brothers type mini-series from Spielberg and Hanks
Apple TV apparently has the rights. Looks like it has been in the works (to what level I don't know) for about 6 years or so.I'm excited for this (even though I was disappointed by The Pacific) and it's a bit of a coup for Apple to steal it away from HBO.

I saw this on my Netflix feed this weekend and was wondering whether it was worth watching. Am I correct in thinking it has the girl from Trainspotting and Boardwalk Empire in it?

@antipodean Saw that bit last night and said exactly the same as you.

Have you seen the Pacific since it came out? I too was disappointed at the time but I think maybe that's because I was comparing it to BOB when it was a different story in that it didn't just follow the one company. I've just finished a podcast where they went through the book of one of the main soldiers on The Pacific, made me think maybe I should give the book a read and then give it another watch.

I did a fairly recent rewatch, the last couple of years at least, it's just really not that good. For the first few episodes I thought maybe I had miss-assessed it but by the time it got going it confirmed my earlier thoughts.
I rewatched it after reading Ambrose the younger's book The Pacific and Eugene Sledge's book.

Damn, that is a shame. Hopefully they can right the wrongs with the new series. The subject matter is too important to do a bad job especially with younger folks forgetting what these guys went through. It was Sledge's book that this podcast was going through, will definitely have to give it a read at least.

I wouldn't discourage anyone from giving it a rewatch, it's not wholly bad, but just not great.

It's a hard sell getting the Mrs to watch an outstanding war series...I can't see an average one flying at all.

Haha fair enough, plus there's so much tv out there now it's hard to find time for rewatching old shows if no A++ level (or HD as they use these days).

finished S2 of Barry, better than S1, as mentioned above, ep5 was awesome, but finished strongly, shit got real in ep 7 & 8.
Hank & Gene are both awesome characters...
Started The Outsider, very good 2 eps, hoping it doesnt go off the rails like Castlerock after it started well too

Finally caught up on The Expanse. Thought Holden's central story was a little formulaic. 2 tribes clash etc. Bobby's side story was entertaining and she got to fuck a bit of shit up. The election story was an interesting side plot too. Still my favourite program though.
The Witcher - GOT without the wit, fun or cool characters. Still watchable though
Mandalorian - heaps of fun. Loved it. Brought cool back to Star Wars. This is the way.
Now about to finally give Breaking Bad a go. Sorry to anyone offended I haven't watched anymore than 2 eps to this point.

I just finished this myself. I read it is on track to be Netflix's highest streamed show.

Can I recommend you watch Better Call Saul first then, as that is a prequel. Watching in chronological order might make more sense regarding the background of the supporting characters.

I wouldn't recommend that. The Saul character is great with the mystery behind him in BB. Besides the fact BCS isn't finished!

Agree, we watched Breaking bad at the end of last year and are working through BCS now . Odenkirk is a hell of an actor , also theres hall of fame milf Rhea Seehorn

@Bones I know there are still 2 seasons to go but it's not really a surprise now, unless you have avoided all info about BCS. Both shows are great in their own different ways.
Well ok. Can't say I've ever seen info about BCS anywhere other than BCS! I like the mystery of Saul, Mike etc in BB.
