Did anyone else see the table of infections/rate vs temperature and humidity? Hope NZ stays warm for those four weeks.
is that still accepted doctrine? Do we trust the Malaysia and Indonesia figures?

The opinion of a HK expert in coronaviruses suggested this is accepted doctrine. Hotter is better. And Baron's number crunching article bears that out

Having just come from Indo, where the Pres has now publicly admitted to lying to the public and suppressing info, having seen the tourists and their flaunting of all rules, I'd throw my money on a "no"

It's in the people's hands now
thats the key isnt it, we rely on people doing thier part and isolating, if everyone does it, then it will achieve what they wanted and see us out the other side in 4 weeks
When will our borders be shutdown completely?
She's been a pretty hot summer and very mild autmn here so far...I'd like rain though, although assume water delivery tankers would be classed as essential?

Too bad it's full of aussie critters who don't do what they're told. But hey at least the league's still on!

That's not about climate, that's behavioral

Yep, my comment was in response to the question "do we trust Indo"

Nothing normal here in UK.
We're still going to work but don't know how long for.
All pubs clubs cafes restaurants gyms leisure centrees and now royal parks are closed.
Fights are breaking out in supermarket queues, and when we get inside we find shelves are stripped bare of even the most basic items, Lucky to find fresh fruit or weges, hand soap bog roll.
People now being told to be 2m away from each other.
Everyone is frightened to engage. Dont know what normal is any moreWhere are you? Went to the local Tesco in Orpington yesterday morning to make sure we had last bits n bobs for isolation and it was all civil with shitloads of produce. No tinned tomatoes or beans but more than enough fresh tomatoes. There wasn't any fruit or veg I couldn't get.
Lots of meat, plenty of bread...I got the last packet of flour though (because it's supposedly the gourmet stuff at £4 grrr).
Still a couple of people trying to crowd in when standing looking at a shelf but I just stepped back and let them go for it. When I finished I was straight into a checkout with no queue.
Edit: the 15-20 minute walk home was absolutely excruciating though. Of course as I hadn't cleaned my hands my face developed all kinds of itchy spots the whole way home.

The US has performed 71870 tests, with 15,219 confirmed cases (21.2%) and 201 deaths.
EDIT: Their Friday 20th

There a lag time for deaths. Come back to us in 10 days.

This drive through only KFC is looking like a genius idea around now. In Newcastle NSW.
My god, that's depressing. Hope that isnt a trend that will accelerate after this crisis is over. Not exactly a Napier art-deco response.
-
@Billy-Tell I'm just looking at the tests at the moment, and the very slow ramp up of testing there.

I just read the cruise ship that let its 2700 passengers walk off in Sydney, even though they had sick on board, is now at 48 confirmed cases. One of the most inept decisions made so far, deeming a cruise ship in a pandemic low risk.
Beggars belief. Cruise ships spread disease quicker than an old whore and sailors on shore leave.
