A place for tips, sharing ideas, links to resources etc! Or just keeping the kids entertained so some of us can work!
I know there are lots of free resources at the moment but if anyone's got some putting them in one place would be handy... (for me anyway)
I've got a preschooler, she's not in formal education but we do simple home work on the days she's not at childminder anyway. -
Someone posted this in an earlier thread. Audible offering free kids books as ling as schools are closed.

Good for structure but running around in the garden and ball games probably more engaging. -
I saw a post yesterday saying parents should not try to replicate a class environment or structure.
I've got a few basics I will keep them up with (reading, writing, running round the section 500 times) just stuff I think schools are falling short 🤣

Possible creative activity: three ice cream (or other) containers. In first, have a bunch of characters on cards eg monster, princess, jedi etc etc. In second, the cards have a went verb eg shopping, running, flying. Third container cards have something they found eg jewel, treasure chest, alien, baby dinosaur etc. Get kiddo to pick a card out of each container eg monster went shopping and found a baby dinosaur.
For younger kids, get them to draw the picture. For older, write the short story of what happened next.

Had my first farm fitness workout with nieces and nephew today, watching interactive little short songs. Some were a bit of a laugh (run like a kitty, jump like a bunny) but the person who wrote the song boom chica boom then added verses of 'be like a motorcycle vroom chica vroom' and move like King Tut 'tomb chica tomb' is going straight to hell.

@nzzp For which they should be isolated and forced to listen to baby shark on repeat until they understand the very bad thing they did and beg for mercy.
at my son's school they use devices. Which the teachers have some control over. So one locked his laptop to baby shark on repeat ... great to see becoming a teacher doesn't mean you can't be a filthy troll
