@Rembrandt arguably the most famous non celebrity in England performs a fine civil act and they purposely leave him anonymous.
Pitiful politicizing. It amazes me how people on here think TR is really well known in the UK. He isn't.
Then why so many articles on him when it can be spinned in a partially negative manner?

In three recent years of living there I never once heard his name come up in conversation and even when he had gatherings in London that people noticed it was “some protest group “.
I think the government and media has achieved what they are trying to do pretty well and that’s to keep his messages away from general life.
I’m not arguing right or wrong just that he is way more known on the fern than anywhere else I have come across in general life.
As for “ask 10 people”? I guess it depends on the group but I would be pretty confident that a random 10 walking out of the tube in a morning would possibly get 1 or 2 “heard of”s -

@Crucial well I guess the BBC have never heard of him either, you know the context in which this ommision takes place. But thanks for your "lived experience" anecdote
Of course they have heard of him. Just not giving him oxygen, which goes to my point that he is not as well known publicly as you imagine.
The plan is “don’t encourage him” -

The plan is “don’t encourage him”Bloke patently stands up to assault of the elderly in an extremely disgusting situation and the plan is to not encourage that bloke?
Anyone else and he'd be a hero. Imagine footage of Gary Lineker doing what TR did and being noted as a bystander (imagine any brit for that matter). You can't though because Lineker doesn't have the stones, and you've not seen the footage😉. He takes on 3 blokes. Credit where credit's due.
Churlish stuff from the BBC for an incident with massive public appeal and at a time when political bias has no place.
Another confidence sapping decision from the former benchmark of trustworthy and balanced broadcasting. That's all it is.

Whoosh!
I said it’s probably deliberate by the reporter (regional rag btw not some big editor).
I said the plan is to not give him oxygen.
Not sure why you are having a rant.Btw I did watch the clip and he spends so much time setting himself up and explaining what a great guy he is I’m not sure he needs the press ( if he is as famous as you say)

Crucial is spot on from my observations.
People have heard of him that is true. But nobody that I know, and I seriously mean nobody, gives him a second thought. He's irrelevant. To the point that I would honestly believe that if Tommy Robinson's name was mentioned in the article, it would actually get less clicks.
Make your own inferences as you wish.

@MajorRage you haven't seen the footage either.
If it were anybody else, that video would be edited and on news in every country.Don't get all shitty about it, you're simply commenting without seeing all that's available. That footage is tv gold and entirely topical.
The guy did a good thing, it's all simply what depersoning someone looks like. In this modern world of equality.

The above has no relevance to anything I wrote. Which were my observations.
You can argue anything you want fella, but you can't argue my observations, unless you are calling me a liar.
As for getting shitty ... best grab a mirror mate.
