It appears Australia is planning to live with the disease rather than eradicate it. And if New Zealand does achieve eradication, that is likely to be a major impediment to normal relations between the two countries for a very long time.
^ that section in turn used this as its refernce: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-04-07/coronavirus-government-covid19-modelling-experts-on-repsonse/12128950
If this were to come to pass. It would have huge impacts on Super Rugby, and the Warriors, until/if a vaccine is discovered or the virus were to peter out a-la SARS.
-
If New Zealand was seeking to eradicate Covid 19 from its shores, it would have to effectively close itself off from the rest of the world, lest a visitor introduce it again.
I wouldn't say Australia is seeking to live with it either, unless by live you mean effective home arrest.
-
@antipodean I think we can use 14 day quarantine once we've eliminated it from NZ rather than totally closed borders, but either way, that's going to be painful for overseas travellers.

...or quarantine and test everyone coming in, and if they don't anyone they get into contact with

Yeah, I cant imagine there's a lot of travellers who spend money prepared to spend the first two weeks of their holiday confined to barracks. But no doubt the freedom campers would continue coming...

my life feels devoid of meaning...
Well in the interests of normality, since we're now in April....
Might as well just give the title to the Crusaders!

they have been deducted a million points for flouting quarantine laws. They are not eligible for the title again until 20 years after Super rugby dies

Bugger.
I wonder if the Aussies will let us play in their comp?

the Crusaders didn't exist in the 80s, so no.

@mariner4life We're supposed to be re-branding anyway, so we could play as Nelson Bays.
Or, really go historic and play under the Golden Bay-Motueka flag!
Might be problematic if they're only going to broadcast on black and white TV though. We could be mistaken for Shield Snorters!

god, how much would that suck?
-
@mariner4life Appalling.
And, since most won't get the reference - Golden Bay-Mot played in the most retro of colours - brown and white!
Must have looked like someone had taken a dump on them - and to be fair, most probably did!

Bring back the hoops! I see Ta$man will be playing in a replica jersey in their game against Southland in Motueka.
My primary school rugby jersey was brown and light blue hoops.

Jeez a fate worse than rugby death.

Just use one of the new 1 hour tests on everyone coming into the country. Can't leave the airport/testing area to their result is back.

Only thing worth watching

Over the four day Easter break I downloaded Amazon Prime (free for a month) and watched β The Testβ. (I think itβs ten 50min episodes) similar to the one they did on the All Blacks during the Lions tour but this time they follow the Aus cricket team post that extraordinary ball tampering incident.
I highly recommend switching this one on as they go behind the scenes through their tour to India, the One Day World Cup and the Ashes. I found it quite interesting to see how JL went about his work and how the likes of Smith and Warner were re-introduced to a new team dynamic.
Trailer:
There are a few other good behind the scenes sports doco-series on Amazon Prime - the likes of the All Blacks, Dallas Cowboys, Phili Eagles etc.

@Canes4life i've been rewatching 30 for 30. Every episode is in the Foxtel on demand library
