Every seat occupied.
Tone-deaf idiocy. Sadder still, this wasn’t somebody elses’ “gottcha!” This was the photograph they themselves chose to accompany their own headline.
Did you read the article?
Don't be ridiculous

What was I thinking? Anyways, here are some of the words. Great words.
There have been a lot more empty seats at President Trump’s daily press briefings — but no, news organizations aren’t boycotting the events in protest or attempting to silence him, despite what he suggested at a briefing earlier this week.
Instead, something else is afoot: Reporters are keeping their distance because they are concerned about the health risks at a time when many consider the president’s evening news conferences to have become increasingly less newsworthy.
The decision by such outlets as The Washington Post, New York Times and CNBC to stay away may be fundamentally changing the character of the briefings. With veteran White House reporters on the sidelines, the president has primarily engaged with TV journalists, including one from a small, far-right conservative news channel that rarely gets such a prominent stage.
Hey @Duluth @Kirwan I tried to italicise those paras above but didn't work?

God the media can get absolutely fucked.
I watched a story this morning on how doctors will have to decide who gets ventilators and who doesn't.
Just for clarity, in Australia there are more than 4,000 available
There are currently 35 people using them
Get. Fucked.

Insightful coronavirus analysis by the Guardian again. Steph's written about it!

Then there's this load of crap in the Australian, first three paragraphs:
Australians have grown used to living their life under the rudely intrusive shadow of COVID-19.
They are used to empty streets, shuttered shops and supermarket aisles stripped bare of toilet paper and pasta. They are used to tubs of hand sanitisers on the counters of the few gallant businesses that are still trading. They are used to frozen borders, stranded cruise ships and the daily bombardment of grim statistics: alarming death tolls, soaring infection rates and millions unemployed.
They have made their peace with travel bans, self-isolation, social distancing and elbow bumps instead of handshakes.

Was it an Aussie story? It is a fear here and Europe and does seem to be relevant.
Wait ... did I just stick up for the media?

It’s exploded in the UK media this morning about a damning report from the Tory centric Sunday Times.
Basically a hit piece on Boris and the govt. left wing Twitter is up in arms. It is seriously kicking off. Just what we fucking need.
My take - I can never take anything seriously when the source of the data isn’t public. That, snd the fact this wasn’t even the headline (schools back in 3 weeks was) leaves me a bit confuddled. The govt response and dialogue has been in no means perfect, and is due criticism and plenty of questioning. But if you are going to publish this now, then you really do have an agenda. And agenda driven media is the worst kind, right now.
I hope it will be f and c paper and we go back to focusing on the now. Not the past.
I would take NZ style fawning media over the division creating sensationalist crap here right now. It is hitting mental health hard.

Govt told the Times to fuck off.
Terrible use of their time.
Embarassingly comprehensive rebuttal. Journalist and editor should resign.
