Cindy has just announced what Lvl 1 will look like
She said to remember we are still at Lvl 2 but if there are no new cases by Monday we will be “in a good place to move to Level One”.
Not making decision ahead of Monday because we want two weeks with gatherings of 100.

• All restrictions on businesses are removed
• Govt working with ticketing agencies and event centres on a code to keep details of attendees in case needed for contact tracing
• Sports – both community and professional return to normal
• Public transport restrictions removed
• More use will be made of digital Diaries (more details on Monday)Rules of Level 1

Okay, the wrath of the right wingers on the Fern will come my way for saying this, but her name is Jacinda Ardern, not Cindy. It sounds terribly misogynistic.
How is a nickname misogynistic? It's not even a bad or degrading nickname? Like DonKey etc etc.
-
@Hooroo It is widely used as derogatory and misogynistic by right wing people all over (social) media. It's definitely not meant as a friendly nickname. Maybe not all Ferners use it that way, but a lot of right wing people (in general) do. Most people know that, too.

Ummm so do "left wing" supporters, in an endearing way.
I think it's more of a you thing than anything else
-
@Stargazer said in Coronavirus - New Zealand:
@Hooroo Nope. I've seen it way too often. Along with worse nicknames - that I won't repeat - by the same people.
But it's used by everyone, not just the right or left. The centre people use it too and not these other ones which I think is what you have an issue with.
Definitely a You thing

@Stargazer said in Coronavirus - New Zealand:
@Hooroo No, not just me. I see people being annoyed by it all the time.
Well you tell both of them to lighten up a bit, its only offensive to you three

I've heard it annoys her, but so what. Could be worse, she could have been nicknamed Piggy. And even his supporters used to call him that in conversation

Not sure if that's true. There was an agreement made on the NZ politics thread on PR to not use Cindy for it's derogatory undertones, or Soimon for that matter.
Although I think that gentleman's agreement may have ended when L3 did.
