@Bones I started going in 7th form on Wednesdays for cheap drinks and a 10 minute train ride back to Lower Hutt. I could go for a couple hours and still be ok for school the next day lol.
I hope you spared a thought for those of us who needed a year or so to grow a few hairs on their chin and had to move around in the shower just to get wet.

Ten minutes from the Tote only gets you to Epuni! Trentham would have seemed classy by comparison

@MN5 it was a troll. I fucken hate the exponents. I remember going to the Tote one time and they were playing. I sang along like a c&nt all to try and get a bit of chick I knew was going. The gig was better than the sex.
Thank god. I was ready to virtual punch you in the face then.

This genuinely rocks and should be lauded as such.........yet Lorde gets lauded ( see what I did there ). Fucks me off to no end.

@MN5 To be fair, I really like Royals. Not enough to listen to anything else she's done though.
Chick dances like a retard too. Not relevant, but worth noting.
YouTube started playing this just now ...
Absolutely.....and hopefully just to prove I'm not an old man yelling at clouds I'll throw this in there.
Her voice is amazing and the tunes are bangin.

@MajorRage I've been cranking that lately, man it's a good tune. Supergroove was ace.

Every time I come back to NZ, I visit an independent "record store" - and buy pretty much every NZ CD which came out since I was last in-country.
This time, I did a little research before hand (VERY little - I checked the NZ Music Awards shortlist)
On visiting the store - I find the two "top" artists of the year, didn't release on CD - only vinyl, with MP3 downloads included? An interesting way to go... but fuck, I need a job if I'm going to finally go into vinyl.
Anyway, some of the more notable artists of 2019...
Benee - yeah, probably not the cup-o-tea of the old-white-guys/hot-young-polish-girls here - but she's talented, catchy, modern
Avantdale Bowling Club - haven't heard much, but from what I have - although they were the top award winner - fairly bland NZ hip-hop
The Beths - seem to be a solid resurgence of the Flying Nun pedigree
Six60 - I've never bothered buying an album. From what I've heard - the blandest of bland "NZ BBQ dub"
Marlon Williams - good at what he does (crooning) - but not much to distinguish himself from the rest of the worldAll that said - as I say, I love to support and buy up NZ music when I'm home, so... - any suggestions I give any of the above another chance, or recommendations of other recent (or older) music - appreciated.
