I’ve just bought several hundred bucks worth of top quality booze from the Shield Snorters.
I picked a hell of a time to go into self imposed detox
Terrible post and terrible behaviour. Both these things are within your control. Buy the booze, drink the booze. Or don't and don't. Just stop complaining.
And also, just drink the booze.
Shit, I never knew the Mrs was on the fern too. Explains alot

Firstly @R-L I hope you are coping with the home situation okay. And that boner in the throat is hopefully nothing more than a source of low brow humour.
The Mariner household has been turned upside down by the arrival of a 9 week old Blue Staffy named Winx. And it's as fucked as I feared. Like having another baby. But she's been ours for 48 hours and we already love her.
My wife has single handedly been attempting to keep the world economy ticking over. So I bought a new car.
The Lions will finish top 2. BOP won a game. The Warriors aren't a disgrace. Liverpool beat Chelsea. Life's not half bad really.

Well if it's rear seats you're after:

Doesn't take long aye. They are a nightmare to start with, but it doesn't take long for all of you to adapt. Be prepared to lose some shoes and things.
Picked up 3 geese yesterday to add to the ducks and chooks. Geese are pretty cool, stroppy, but cool. 2 of the 7 chooks are Orpingtons, just to go back a bit in the thread.
This is quite a diverse thread but I got an offer on my house today too. Rejected it, but will see what happens.
The world is still turning - feel for you guys where it isn't so much.

I lost an Airpod to the pup last night. Dropped the case and one shot out somehow right toward the dog who quickly went crunch! Little fucker.
Still feel like we have a new kid and he's now 8 months old.

Any young couple who are thinking about having kids should get a puppy. If they still want kids after that then it should be a piece of cake...

Real estate is going really well. We just got an offer on our hectare section we are subdividing off and we don't even have title yet. It was only word of mouth and there are more buyers than lots available it seems. Same with a farm down the road (a few k's mind you)where a bidding war started for his 8000sq sub and he wanted 400k and got 520! I expect it will be short lived but will try and make hay while the sunshines even those ours won't be as valuable as the bidding war section

2 years is the accepted time frame apparently and our wee girl is pretty awesome (and well behaved - she will still thrash a shoe to death though). Will sleep on the sofa with the cat now, but geese are a bit confusing at this point.

@Hooroo I was out seeing a client this morning who does new build transportable homes, has over a dozen contracts for the next 6 months or so.
Is alot of work going on all over it seems, hope it continues and the money keeps going round!

This made me smile remembering the fashion thread and @mariner4life love of shoes.

First covid test in my household today, daughter up all night with a temperature and blocked nose aches etc... A year ago I would have rested her, fluids etc and not thought twice. But now a test is needed due to the temp or school won't have her back. Bet the monkey will be fine tomorrow. Funnily enough though I'm not worried and I'm a proper worrier over her health, I know it will be negative! And even if it's not calpol is doing its job and she's alright.
So anyway.... Test centre had tons of available tests online this afternoon. I had to do the swabbing and my girl was a trooper, only cried on the nasal swab. Chocolate after made her forgive me. Apparently 72hrs test result but I know a few people who've had theirs in just over 24 so🤞🏻🤞🏻Raining no end here so easy to stay in.

@R-L 's post reminds me we had 17yo come down with sniffles a week after coming home from school camp (to Lady Elliot Island ... how come we didn't have school trips like that in my day?) 10 days ago.
Weren't fussed until she rings mum and tells her she couldn't taste the sour patch lollies she just ate.
Had a telephone appt with Doc who said there's a number of viruses around, 99.999999% it's not COVID (it's Queensland), but get a test.
Test confirmed the other 0.000001%.
48 hours for result I think. (Thursday to Saturday.)
Most excitement we've had with regard to COVID.

Lady Elliot Island
Wow just googled it! Looks beautiful!
Hope your daughter is doing OK now!
Well if the test comes back positive I'm sure it will be no worse than she's feeling now 🤞🏻 kids seem to handle it quite well I hear. Just kinda wonder when it will makes it's appearance for me then! 😱
I'd prob have cold like symptoms and convince myself I was dying if I knew I had a positive result.
