Lockdown/Covid Check In

After a few test rides, bought myself a nice new eScooter today - can manage Pirie Street incline without missing a beat . Looking forward to terrorising the young whippersnapper skateboarders once I finish attaching the scythe blades to the wheel hubs - going all Eagle of The Ninth theme this year

So much for talk of things been quiet work wise with the lockdowns etc. Full on here, counting down to the Xmas break now. Couple months to go thank fuck, I know we already have had a large break this year but a month off over Xmas/summer will be like no other I think. Can’t wait.
Feels weird saying I need the break but really do..@Snowy you better get your door order in soon...

@JC Black barn. Nice.
I think that is where we did a plant based diet cooking course (actually the wife did, I was just in the vicinity drinking).
They have accommodation too don't they? Stayed at Cape Kidnappers a few years ago, really great but expensive, so an alternative would be good for our next visit.

@Snowy Yeah the restaurant is closed for good. My bro and I were just saying we should be doing a tour of all the remaining restaurants to make sure they’re still up to standard. So Black Barn next weekend.
That sucks! I loved Elephant Hill.

@Nepia They made the decision to close very early in lockdown. Need overseas tourists to make their business model work. Unsupportable if relying solely on domestic diners Shame.
I was able to get there one last time just before Covid and the Bay is still rich in dining options.

@JC The Vietnamese cafe in Hastings St is good although its a stretch to call it a restaurant. If it had the little blue plastic chairs it would be very authentic.
Enjoyed Sai when I was down in July although it was more Thai Fusion than traditional and is a bit up itself.
IMO you have two very good Indians in Rasoi and Indigo and the Malay ON marine Parade - can't remember the name but very twee decor It's practically next door to The Dome which is where we were staying - did a good lunch.
Nothing else I can think of and I do agree I have has some shocking ethnic meals in Napier, but for its size you are incredibly fortunate. Hope more don't go the way that Elephant Hill has although when I was last down the place was pumping
