@Kiwiwomble yup heard it a couple of days ago - can't find the source but Norther Denmark is in lockdown after 236 people became cross infected from mink.
However just looking for the link the hot off the press news (2 hours ago) is that it's all an over-reaction and this mutation is already known so the minks have a stay of execution - well until they're gonna get killed anyway
...what were they doing to/with the mink?
Coats?
Then people from PETA can throw ink / dye on them. I think that is how it works. -

Bury them in the earth for 250milion years until they turn into oil and then we can make faux-fur coats out of polyester from them.

@taniwharugby That is the one NZ govt has a purchase deal for.
Looking into the results now.
Think they said they had level 3 results. What, if any, remaining tests/approvals required?
And not given much press, but given storage at -70 degrees, if Oxford vaccine also proves effective, presume both will be used in parallel, at least initially?
-
-
Recent talk suggests we are pretty close to a vaccine. Is anybody worried about unknown future side effects given the rush to find a vaccine? Not sure I would be 100% confident.
-
@Crazy-Horse im not really worried, not because i dont think there is a chance of side affects...im just sick of worrying about stuff
-
@Kiwiwomble yeah worried is probably not the right word. Maybe more like 'it's crossed my mind'.
-
@Crazy-Horse I guess the difference between this one and other vaccines that take much longer is there has probably been more $$$ invested and more collaboration than ever before, which is why something has been found sooner than expected?
-
also, lets not discredit the side effects might include superpowers

Are they still superpowers though if every bastard gets them?
An excellent follow on effect of this would be that the only people without these powers would be the anti-vaxxers

@voodoo i'd like to think so because i'd hope we'd all get something different
I'm willing to entertain this dream

Great
Give it to the 'at risk' group so we can all go about our business.
If it works, fantastic.
If it doesn't, then c'est la vie

Wouldn’t it be whatever ‘such is death’ is in French?

Russians claim to have a vaccine that is 92% effective...

C'est la mort? (That could be le mort. These gender issues are everywhere.)
No, it is "la" in modern French. You might have coined a phrase though.

@NTA is that really a surprise?
You have the current president who was fortunate enough to catch it and get rid of it, so his supporters will see the narrative he has been banging; just a flu, so out in force at rallies, protests etc...keep spreading it.
