So, I've had to avoid this thread as I was delaying watching until all the episodes were out and then was in the middle of other things. Tried to read the whole thread from when I last checked in (somewhere in the 130s), but the thread seems to be 30% Mando and 70% whinging, so I stopped reading so apologies if I go over the same ground as everyone else.
Anyway, here's my thoughts on the season.
Better than S1 for me even though I thought it got off to a slow start. I like that they just make each episode as long as it needs to be and don't extend them for the sake of it.
The effects are awesome, everything looks completely real (unlike the prequels). The ships look realistic, if they're newish they look clean, if they're old and worn they look that way. @canefan I even thought Luke looked bloody good, especially in comparison to Leia and Moff Tarkin in Rogue One. TBH, I enjoyed that scene more than the Darth Vader scene at the end of Rogue One, but I always had issues with the editing for that.
Was that X Wing pilot Apa from Kim's Convenience?
I thought Tem was pretty good as Boba Fett, did a bit of taiaha style fighting in one scene too. I'm actually looking forward to his series.
Bill Burr was great, I wonder if they'll bring him back once a season now. The dude can actually act, I also saw him The King of Staten Island recently which he was also good in.
The final episode was almost a BSG episode - the launch bays for the Tie Fighters were very BSG looking, the Dark Troopers were very Cylon reminiscent, and Starbuck was there.
The only thing that annoyed me was when the two lady snipers were just standing up looking down rather than concealing themselves in the Bill Burr episode. We know Storm Troopers can't shoot for shit but I didn't think they were actually blind.
There's lots of the Empire still floating around in the outer universe - I can see why the First Order found it easy to rebuild. Although, it's clear that all the good Storm Troopers were killed in the war because this lot make A New Hope's look competent.

Disney Gallery The Mandalorian has started for the second season - the first episode was 64 minutes long. and primarily about each of the directors of each episode. Currently no more episodes scheduled, but I hope they expand it to 8 like the first series.

It was apa!
I think I saw he might be in rangers of the new republic series

can we talk about the Dark Saber for a second, Bo refuses to take it from Mando because it needs to be won....didn't Sabine give it to her in the first place?

I'm really struggling with some of your phrasing today and it is cracking me up.
The dark saber (use your imagination). Bo refuses to take it from Mando...but Sabine is well up for it right from the get go.
I am clearly not a Star Wars fan - but I have a filthy mind and might well become a fan if this is anything to go by.

@Kiwiwomble Mando does have an impressively big, shiny helmet.
-
@Kiwiwomble and Grogu loves holding his smooth ball

Can you do one about wiping the the prequels from my, um, their memory?
No, the prequels have been proven to be far superior to the sequels.
-
@MN5 100%
they have huge faults...but at least they more or less work as a trilogy and connect to the originals
now looking back I think one change would "fix" the prequels...make Anakin like 5 years older and a bit of a street urchin (using the force to pick pockets, maybe in the podrace he uses the force to drop a bolder in front of someone), relationship with pademe is less creepy and showing he already had a bit of dark side in him would explain why his fall was so quick

They're rubbish, no matter how much revisionists like to convince themselves they're not, even Dave Feloni's explanation of them which is supposed to make them better doesn't make them better.
I never want to subject myself to them again. TBF, the 3rd of the sequels was of the same standard.

@Nepia out of curiosity when was the last time you watched them?
Last year, I did a rewatch to see if they were as bad as I remembered, they were worse.
