@Kiwiwomble agree with the sentiment mate.
However, 1 swallow doesn't make a summer -
if you want a case study in how not to read a room
have a fucking go at some of the shit coming out of the Australian Open quarantine. Those motherfuckers are all high risk as fuck, there are positive tests everywhere (if there were 6 tests in that small a number of people in the wider community fluffybunnies would be in lockdown quicker than you can say "tennis is shit").
Anti-vax virus-enabler dickhead in chief Novak Djokovic wants players moved to private homes with tennis courts. Why certainly your highness, right away. Bernard Tomic's missus is distraught because she has to wash her own hair!!
Some other bint had an epic whinge the other day as well.
how about, fuck off back to Europe and America then guys, we'll do without the tournament this year aye? You can all just do without the payday.

Funny how Gryiogos (Sp) comes out of this as the level headed good guy.
I'm really warming to him in the past year

For every dick whingeing there are ten players posting what a privilege, how great it is to be in Melbourne, great to be in a country where normal life goes on, understand the need to protect Oz etc. Just it's not as 'newsworthy'.
Every group has its share of knob ends.

when the loudest knob end is the most high profile, it's not "newsworthy" it's newsworthy

Answers my question: "sorry who the fuck is that entitled slag?"

and, on a more personal whinge. if there are now zero fucking hotspots in the country, why the fuck are there still closed borders?
-
More whinging Tennis players, doing it tough.

Good question. I'd say it is the ongoing conflict of idiocy between states and fed. I mean, look at this cockhead:

What have the feds got to do with it? They can't compel the States to open their borders, otherwise they would have done it by now.

I thought he was talking about international borders?
As for state borders: no point opening them when, as @voodoo says, Premiers are just going to close them at the drop of a hat.
We will need a significant period of 0 cases (minimum 14 days?) to get those eased, and even then it'll be horse trading and bullshit

At a guess, run a competent quarantine process given they have the power to do so (s51 (ix)) combined with s51 (xxvii) immigration and emigration, thus ensuring that Covid and new strains aren't reintroduced into the wider community? Hence no opportunity for halfwit premiers to slam shut borders.

Another day of zero cases here in NSW.
Anyone know why we can't have more than 5 people over for Straya Day on Tuesday?
I reckon they'll open up after Dingo Day. Gladys wont risk it taking off due to gatherings on Tuesday.

Oh I agree, but its seriously starting to annoy me now. It's so arbitrary, you can sit in a crammed restaurant, go to a public pool or gym, meet 30 ppl outside somewhere. But you can't have 2 families over for a BBQ? Fuck that

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard told ABC News Breakfast this morning he was "feeling positive" about an easing of restrictions in the near future.
"We have another meeting this week where we will be looking at it," he said.
"[Chief health officer] Kerry Chant and her team ... will give us advice, but normally the epidemiologist like 14 days of clear air before the last cases."
8 days in a row of zero cases and they'll take a look in the "near future "
This is fucking ludicrous.
