@donsteppa but the reason it jumped was because they couldnt link it, because that other case lied.
Bloomfield said yesterday and today were crunch days, why would these people identified form last Monday or Tuesday not get tested until today or tomorrow?
Seriously? If it was me, I'd have been down the testing station the moment I knew I was a close contact.
At our clinic some casual contacts rolled up days too early and even if they got tested were told to return for the second test at the optimal time

It's all down to insurance purposes. Basically a chain. They can't get insurance which means airlines won't allow them to fly (not SOP, Covid terms apparently). The reason they can't get insurance is due to official government guidance combined with their age & conditions etc.
Definitely not SOP as you say, and a bit strange to be honest. If you want to do anything in life without insurance you carry the risk - that's SOP for airlines and in the conditions of travel / cancellation policies, so quite surprising that they have changed that when they had it sorted anyway.
Air NZ have even offered their own insurance with covid cover.
"Eligibility
Policyholder must be a New Zealand citizen or resident.
Travel must originate in New Zealand."Is it just cost that is the issue, not that it can't be done?

Thats great. One less person in the queue. Good luck leaving her safety in God's hands. The only bad thing is that the innocent suckers that follow her and her shitbag husband will likely do the same. But stupid is as stupid does

I have no qualms in saying the Tamakis are evil

I have no problems with anyone refusing the vaccine.
Only need about 80% I guess for herd immunity.
It's not like the measles refusers, who put everyones babies at risk, as well as their own, in that time period between birth and the age they can get the vaccine.
It takes all sorts in this world, this isn't a biggie.

No new cases in the community today, 6 in MIQ...

@canefan Judged on election results God doesn't seem to listen to the Tamaki's much.
They have also announced they are taking the media to court for defamation and persecution over the reporting of their flight from Auckland.
Looks like its time to pass the bowl around. Again.

But whats the issue. If the vaccine works (and whats the point if it doesn't) then those that take it are protected. Those that don't will rely on their in-built immune system. These no vaccine takers will also provide a small control group to measure the effectiveness of those that go the vaccine route.

Because they may spread it Winger, to those that haven't yet had a vaccine opportunity.
If the vaccine doesn't work, you are correct, there is no point, but I suspect that they wouldn't have produced billions of doses of a useless product to stab billions of people if it didn't work.
You know about smallpox, polio, etc, right?

Of the 185 city fitness casual plus - 156 have returned a negative test. There are 29 people that results are pending for. 43 of the Kmart contacts have not yet returned a result and they're working on this, Bloomfield says. 11 of the Papatoetoe High School students have not returned a second test. Eight have been followed up with, and two are refusing to be tested.
Bloomfield was asked why the two students are refusing a test. He said it's not exactly clear why, but said he's aware generally some people don't believe in Covid (a small amount of people), and said some times others simply don't want to be tested. He believed that the two students that are outstanding have not had a test at all during this current outbreak.

Fortunately both my locals are
With some fly spray on hand for the likely plague of locusts
