Movie review thread...

Okay, so after watching so much absolute shite... I figured I'd try out this Nobody - and join the circle-jerk.
Yeah - that was fun.
I don't think I'm spoiling anything with the below...- The fact that they took what would have been the main action sequence in any other movie - and turned it into a short montage of "yeah, so that happened" - was sweet
- I actually found myself grinning like a 12-year old kid during that car-chase-ish scene... even if it wasn't as long/intricate as those in other movies. Maybe that was what made it sweet - short'n'sweet?
- My one quibble would have been the booby-traps and nonsense... so many of them were intricate pre-setup bullshit - which took just as much effort to trigger as actually... pulling a trigger.
- Oh - the music... I couldn't figure out if it was well-done or on-the-nose. I probably need to watch it again to pick up on each and every song, and how exactly the lyrics mirrored the sentiment/actions of the scene. It kinda seemed like how a teenager would soundtrack a movie - matching scenes with lyrics... but it also kinda worked spectacularly well, in most cases.
- Every time I see "Michael Ironside" in the opening credits, I'm poised - waiting to see what character is going to be played by Jeremy Irons.
4.5 jobs that Nobody did, out of 5 jobs that Somebody should have done, and Anybody could have. Or some faux-insightful bullshit like that.

Snatch
Awesome film.
4.75 go down in the 4th out of 5 can't trust a Pikey
Still a toss up between that and Lock Stock as to which is his best film.

The Foreigner
Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan4 OAPs out of 5 IRAs

@mn5 Snatch, watched both recently and def Snatch.
It had more star power but it’s hard to top the original. Both brilliant I reckon. Loads of recycled actors too ( Jason Statham, Vinnie Jones, guy who plays barman/bricktop, guy who plays one of the four card guys/Brads pikey mate etc ).
Rock n Rolla was cool but not in the league of these two.

Whenever I think of Lock Stock I think of this guy, one of the rare occasions when a bloke is much tougher in real life than he is in movies. Absolute animal.

What a legend. You don't want to mess with him!! All the characters in Lock Stock were great. I need to watch it again to remind myself of Guy's genius

Yeah, I found Vinnie Jones hard man stuff a bit of a put on compared to some of the others to be honest. But still, what a flick, loads of colourful characters ( just like Snatch which makes it hard to seperate them )

I found lock stock a little more stylised which I liked. Probably more the way it was shot and produced

No right or wrong answers I suppose but perhaps we sympathised a bit more with Ed, Soap, Bacon and Tom than Turkish and Tommy ? But then Brick top was a better baddie than Hatchet Harry ( more screen time helped )......as I said before Snatch had much better star power but LSATSB had so many quirky weird hard cases as well......fuck it, I still have to sit on the fence overall.

I think it's perfectly okay to enjoy both

Boss Level:
A video game repeat the same day/levels action film. An action Groundhog Day, or a more game orientated Edge of Tomorrow.
This was actually a fun action film. Stars Frank Grillo, Naomi Watts, Michelle Yeoh and Mel Gibson.
Yeah, so I got around to watching this.
Fun.
Dumb.
Fun.
Either there wasn't as much video-game as I expected considering this review and the title, or I just didn't get as many of the references as there might have been in there.
Action-Groundhog-Day seems an obvious genre which hasn't been utilised as much as it could be.This was one of those movies when I thought I recognised the lead actor, or protaganist - if you'd prefer - and recognised him from.... I couldn't remember what. And decided I didn't want to remember what - because it would have been something terrible, and I just want to forget about the world and watch some stupid unrealistic fights and 'splosions and car-stunts for a while.
3 using tangential video game references and effects to bring in the kids,
out of 5 Bro... get some self-respect and just call it Ground-Kill Day like you originally wanted.
And Mel Gibson telling somebody to just leave "race" out of it - classy. -

Liam in good form
3.5 Clints out of 5 El Caminos
I'm going to have to disagree on this one.
Straight up B (+) crap.
The first 15 minutes - I was trying to figure out if it was pro-Trumpian Mexico-Wall dross, or anit-Trumpian-Mexico-Wall dross.
Either way - it was going to be slightly entertaining shit.
And then it just became a long slog of mildly interesting... slog. With some bullets fired.
Just B-grade Liam. Just... nah.
2 "Agathta, how did you fall so low"s
.. out of 5 "Liam, you used to have a particular skill set"s. -
