Movie review thread...

(500) Days of Summer. A romantic comedy/drama about a guy who falls in love at first sight with a girl who doesn't believe in love. The film is presented in a non linear fashion, and hops around in random order through various events of their courtship. One of the better flick I have seen this year (along with The Hurt Locker).

Year One; Jack Black, Michael Cera

plus a host of other b list actors.

Had it's moments, but for the large part, pretty average 5.5/10 -
Sean is a dead set legend and a guy I'd love to meet someday but it can't be denied he has been in some absolute shitters of movies.

I'd love to see this just to see how bad it is..... -
Yeah but he was in Outland so he gets a free pass forever. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Zardoz I think. Sean Connery is easy to categorise. If he has hair in the movie avoid it like the plague
Eh ? he had hair in ALL the Bonds ! Crazy talk dogmeat. Mind you most probably true in every other case....
The Rock, The Hunt For Red October, Highlander has hair in all of those and all are pretty good.

I think any movie where he has some floppy fringe type deal going on is likely to be crap..Or obviously pony tail. -
Just wanted to add to the votes upthread for "Up" - went to a 10 am screening of that last week, took the 7 month old along to one of the baby friendly screenings.

A poignant, funny and quite moving film. A simple story, fantastical in nature - but with real heart and hope in it. It sounds like sickly sweet viewing fare - but it's not.

I really enjoyed it - and as my baby fell asleep halfway through I got to watch it with her small head on my shoulder. It was primo. A Pixar film for kids to enjoy the story, but for adults to savour the meaning. -
The trailer for Martin Campbell's feature film remake of his own Edge of Darkness miniseries is online:

EDIT: And it looks about as bad as Gibson's accent sounds. -
Magic Man; Billy Zane

In spite of the lack of any big name actors, a decent storyline, and decent actual acting, it still sucked! -

Expendable goodness, the 80s make a comeback! -
GI Joe - pretty average, some good action scenes mixed with silly action scenes; 5.4/10

The Ugly truth, Kathryn Heigl - new age Rom/com? A few of these now obviously with a bit more male oriented content trying to draw in the male veiwers better? I quite liked it, had some good laughs, with the obvious ending...for the girls 7.4/10
