Premier League 16/17
-

Seriously, the football season never fucking stops. Clubs are already playing preseason games, and the first round of Premier League games is in 3 weeks.

Promises to be an interesting season. New top profile managers to big clubs, and some big name players floating around as well.

England's latest international disappointment is going to result in Sam Allardyce getting the job. So at least England will be able to avoid relegation. It leaves nothing club Sunderland fucked again, with no manager and no new players.

Leicester's little fairytale looks to be a one-season wonder, with their best players being bought elsewhere.

I think you can pen the Manchester teams and Chelsea in to the top 3, with Spurs and Arsenal chasing 4th, while Liverpool and who ever are the surprise packets this year chasing the final European spots.
-

Kante went to Chelsea. And there are repeated rumours of big money offers for Mahrez from serious clubs. They kept Vardy though i guess.
-

Big call for both Manc teams and Chelsea in the top 3 given they all missed out last year. Looks like Mourinho will have to blend Pogba and Ibra with Martial and Rooney - no guarantees that will work.

Expect Man C to be up there. And Conte has the reputation and the squad to do well. (Kante-Conte reminds me of Roots)

Really hope Leicester compete again.

Big Sam eh? A year ago that would have been a fanciful idea after he was dumped by West Ham. At least England won't be last in their qualifying group. I actually like him and it will be fascinating to see what he does. Maybe Kevin Davies will be called up.
-

with the coin thrown around, and the managers they have, i find it impossible to think they won't be there or thereabouts again. I would love for one of them to go spectacularly wrong though, especially if it's the combination of Man fucking united and that Portuguese prick.

The egos floating around Old Trafford this year will be out of control.

Klopp has already said 'pool aren't buying any big names, and we paid a shitload for another Southampton player. Still holes in the squad, but we don't have as many fronts to fight on this year.
-

Saw some ridiculous stat on how much money Liverpool had spent on players from Southampton, Sunderland, Newcastle and Villa in the last 5 seasons - 250 million or something bizarre!
-
Yep. And they're shit mainly

Big Chelsea fan here, looking forward to a new dawn. As much as I enjoyed another league championship with Mourinho back at the helm his behavior has become more and move volatile over the last few years and I think it had a toxic effect on the club.

A season without European football will allow us to consolidate our efforts and focus on the league.
-

Well Conte certainly seems to know how to set up a team, judging by the way Italy tamed Spain in the Euros. With Kante to do the dirty work, he should be able to mould a similar unit with that Chelsea squad.
-

Yeah, that was a good bit of business. My major concern right now is the lack of depth at striker, we've been threadbare there now for a number of seasons. After Costa there's not enough quality in the squad.
-

from what i read, your centre backs aren't really suited to Conte's preferred game plan, so something is going to have to change there as well.

Yes, Conte used the same back 4 (including Buffon) for Juve and Italy.
