@taniwharugby It's probably what I'd own too if I wanted something practical, but also fast. The fuel consumption worries me a bit though - a buddy of mine here has a 2005 M5, and he said his average consumption is 25-30 litres / 100km ... That would get expensive very quick.

@MajorRage meh, if I could afford an RS6, I doubt I'd have too many concerns about fuel consumption
-
@taniwharugby Indeed ... although I think my advice here, is don't go all silly and snap up a 10 year old one .. running costs don't depreciate with the value of the car!

@MajorRage its like that old urban legend about the reporter that pretended to be a buyer for a super yacht, and he met with the Texan billionaire and one of his questions was how much does it cost to run, and in his Texan drawl he answered 'son, if you have to ask, you can't afford it'

I've got a 2007 RS4 and fuel consumption very much depends how you drive it. Put the cruise control on and sit slightly above the speed limit and I get 11lt per hundred km. Not bad for a 420hp v8. Put your foot down and push hard on some of the back roads and yep 25+ average. Have seen a transient 50lt per hundred but won't say how fast I was going or RPM...

Is he taking it to a fucking drag meet?

Yep. Missed that post, but Audi parts in NZ are extortionately expensive. Better in the UK MR. I will order parts from there for mine in future.
I bought a door blade (exterior molding with a rubber seal to keep dust out) the other day - over $400 once it was painted and I fitted myself. Had to replace a couple of adaptive headlight parts - they were $1500 each! I didn't pay as the service guys had screwed it up, but that was about 5% of the value of the car at the time which is crazy.TBF to Audi though 100,000 km (and I've owned it 7 years) that is all I have spent other than routine maintenance.
