ALI IN TROUBLE - DRUG ARREST!

  • ALI IN TROUBLE - DRUG ARREST!
Ali Williams (Racing 92) and James O’Connor (Toulon) were both arrested for allegedly trying to buy cocaine in Paris on Friday night, according to reports.

LCI.fr report that the pair were spotted trying to allegedly buy cocaine by plain-clothes police officers in the early hours of Saturday morning outside a nightclub near the Place Charles de Gaulle around 03:00.

According to the report, Williams, 35, and O’Connor, 26, were allegedly spotted handing over 200 euros to two suspected dealers in exchange for cocaine.

Williams was then spotted at the time of the arrest allegedly trying to throw the three packets of cocaine away, which were picked up by investigators.

Both players were then taken into police custody.

  • Oh jesus Ali you dickhead!

Organise yourself to fit your public profile man, and never actually buy drugs yourself you dickwad - get groupies and hookers to hook you up ya dolt!

    celebrity Darwin award right there

  • We're laughing at Ali, but only one of those two blokes is currently a professional player

  • @mariner4life No, both of them are. Ali is contracted to Racing 92.

  • For what?

  • @mariner4life He's played 10 games for them this season, including 3 games in the European Champions Cup and 1 start. On average, 30 minutes per game.

    Edit: his Racing profile http://www.racing92.fr/en/Ali_WILLIAMS-54-285.html

  • Someone is still paying him to play? Hilarious

  • I've always thought Ali Williams was a douchebag - sucked in.

What about the Brand damage to JoC?

According to this article he is mainly there as a minder for DC.

Very disappointing to see JOC drag both Ali and DC down so quickly. They were model citizens before leaving our shores.

  • DO WE NORMALLY USE CAPSLOCK FOR THREAD TITLES?

  • @Billy-Tell only when it's the most evil of all drugs COCAINE!

@Billy-Tell only when it's the most evil of all drugs COCAINE!

It is kind of true. When I worked in NZ and Aus, it was drugs like speed etc.

In Europe cocaine is rampant. And it can be lethal both acutely, or 20 years down the line with hardened arteries and early heart attacks or stroke.

Only foolish people touch cocaine IMHO.

JOC is the SH version of Danny Cipriati, such a waste of talent.

  • Hilarious, big ups Ali.

News flash to all the old fluffybunnies on here, but 3 grams of coke isn't a big deal

Pretty much retired, just wanted to have a good night and was a bit unlucky. Will probably be the head news story on stuff for the next week

I blame Tew. I mean if he can't control ex-ABs from going too the Parisian back streets then he should be publicly flogged*

The only point I agree with you on is JOC. The rest of your post sounds like it was written by one of those American high school guidance councillors you see on tv shows like "save by the bell"

Many people use cocaine, only a few become hopeless addicts. Let Ali have his fun (after a few laughs at what an idiot he is of course 🙂 )

Who cares about O'Connner he's always been a dick

    Did I mention addiction?

I mentioned cardiac death and stroke. I've seen both with my own eyes. If you want to use it grand.

Never seen either thankfully (and I'm sorry you have by the way, that really sucks and I can understand your position) I actually admire your conviction (and that's not just the **** talking)but I will say I know plenty of guys that would say yes to 3 grams of coke (200 euro is a bit steep tho 🙂 in France, closer to nz prices I think). None of them I'd consider hopeless addicts. In fact I know a couple of doctors (who have definitely seen heart attacks before, and death I assume) that definitely wouldn't turn it down (provided it's good shit at least, and passes an inspection).

In moderation consumed by an educated individual, it's no more harmful than alcohol (and a little more fun 🙂 in someone's opinion, not mine of course 🙂 )

But yeah I see you point. A small portion of idiots do get addicted, but has been discussed on here at length in previous threads there's a lot of other factors (unregulated supply, poverty, personality disorders etc) no different to alcohol except for the social stigma attached. By the way I know I'll get the usual right wingers shout me down

All good points for legalising all recreational drugs in my opinion, treat the real problem (why certain groups, ethnic or income based are so pre disposed to addiction, I don't think it's the drugs at all) without sighting any studies (mainly because I can't be fucked opened a second window I've been up all night with a great bunch of mates, read "chasing the scream if you want to see the ... Almost all successful professional guys who have worked fucking hard to get where they are.

By the way I know I'll get the usual right wingers shout me down but it's a big issue for me. I'm hugely in favour of legalising all drugs, even the devil drug "p" which is portrayed in the media with as much bias as Donald Trump. It's just amphetimes which have been prescribed for personality disorders and widely used in the military since forever.

Anyway I'll continue ranting as long as I stay awake or the missus wakes up (hoping for the latter) , by the way @Billy-Tell you're up early. All nighter? I'm guessing not, you sound like a clean living type of bloke 🙂

  • @Billy-Tell

Some can use substances moderately and never have a problem ,

Others go like a bull at a gate and ruin their lives ,

You can put alcohol in the same category.

  • I'm not going to get into a long debate about it people do what the want with their bodies. Just like smoking increases the risk of lung cancer, but not every smoker gets lung cancer, cocaine increases the risk of cardiac death, but most users are fine (or at least die 30 years later from heart disease that they don't attribute to their cocaine use).

Many people are happy to take the risks, relatively speaking there only a small number of sudden deaths each year, it's like rolling the dice.

If you need cocaine to enjoy yourself than so be it.

  • Ali has always been a bit of a douche, but geez the last 12 months for NZR ain't been great on the publicity front...

  • @Billy-Tell

    everything you said is correct,

but there is so much crap out there that is not good for you , that gets a free ride , I think that part annoys me sometimes,

like obseity and takeway junk food 🙂

  • Just off the Champs Elysees. Idiots! Let's just say there are more discret places and they are not hard to find. Probably get their contracts ripped up. No harm as neither was setting the world on fire. Hopefully deported as well.

  • JOC was on the radio with Maaaasaaaaaaarto the other day talking about how much he'd matured as a person etc etc etc. Fucking idiot. Ali too.

Regardless of what certain people may claim about these drugs, they are illegal and completely off-limits if you want to keep your job. How stupid do you have to be to take that risk.

  • Both comical Ali and DC caught in the same area of Paris in little over a week.

  • @Bovidae does this say something about the culture at thier club or the culture in the ABS?

  • @taniwharugby It says more about the individuals. The much-maligned Ben Tameifuna also plays for Racing but I haven't seen his name in the media for the wrong reasons.

  • @taniwharugby said in ALI IN TROUBLE - DRUG ARREST!:

Mostly says that area of Paris has heaps of cops around dunnit?

  • In and of itself this isn't a huge crime.

But JOC has just completed a PR tour of Australia, doing 'mea culpa' interviews and showing he's matured. It was a subtle-as-a-sledgehammer way of saying 'I want to come home'. And most people believed him, I reckon.

And then just a week later he goes out and does this. Single-handedly sinks his own career.

    What. A. Moron.

  • @taniwharugby said in ALI IN TROUBLE - DRUG ARREST!:

@Bovidae does this say something about the culture at thier club or the culture in the ABS?

Neither I reckon. It's more of a reflection of general society. Thousands of others in France probably had a few lines of coke on their Saturday night out.

These 2 were idiots making the transaction in such a public place. Their clubs and the ABs have nothing to do with it

  • @SammyC I was more thinking with the DC incident, footage of him skulling beers in the changing rooms (happens everywhere I know) doesnt make it appear like there is a good culture.

  • I was surprised when Dan got done last week. Wasn't even a little surprised about this.

It's about as surprising as 'Jesse Ryder, caught with a pie'

It's not about the amount of coke it is about being allowed to or not allowed to. If I got done for buying coke my job would be ended immediately.

  • Well this thread has confirmed which ferner has the sweet drug hookups. Party at @SammyC s house !!!!

His article is all about the pointlessness of prohibition and how it makes criminals out of otherwise law abiding citizens . I have no interest in drugs myself and I agree with most of that but Williams, Ratturd and O'beiber all have a long history of dickheadish behaviour so I can't say I'm either surprised or sympathetic.

It was such a bizarre article. I'm not sure it belonged anywhere near the sports section. Basically Rattue saying that he used to love doing drugs and therefore it was okay the Ali and JOC did.

Says a lot good about the AB set up under Henry/Hasen's "better people make better ABs" reign when you look at how many have been involved in off field incidents during their career - and very little if any happened under their control.

Especially when you look at guys like Mils, Collins, Carter, Hore all had incidents after being appointed match captain at various points (granted Carter got injured before playing) - but managed to keep their slate clean while in the AB set up.

That said the ABs still blow off steam from time to time - it's just done in a highly structured way, at the right times and away from prying eyes and kept within reason.

It's the Champs Elysées. It's the most famous Street in France and we've been under what they call Vigipirate protocols since the terror attacks. So yeah lots of cops around famous land marks.

Not smart fellahs. As for DC who drives around the etoile if they can avoid it that thing is a shit show.
