Water, there's too much of it around at the moment in the upper North Island, especially for the Coromandel area.
But here in Auckland there's been so much rain we are facing a serious water shortage...whaaaat?!?We are been asked to conserve water, around 20 ltrs per person per day. Easiest way is shorter showers (no Fitbit or Garmin in the shower boys)
Also what will help the water shortage is an end to the rain and a long dry spell... whaaaaat? -
haha, seems daft aye!
Well I have plenty of water overflowing from my tanks into the open drain by the road...we've been pretty lucky, while we've had a lot (~105mm in 3 days - ~28,000L off my roof) not as bad as other areas around Whangarei, let alone places further south.

We were on tanks in Beachlands before I left NZ and it sounds like they're having the opposite problem out there according to the local Facebook page. People are draining their tanks to make room for the expected influx.
Isn't the water "shortage" something to do with there being so much silt in the water reservoir at the moment that they can't process it fast enough?

Yup. The silt is reducing their processing capability. Looks like it might be best to switch to drinking beer all weekend in the little big city this weekend!!
