  • Not the 1st XV. ie Hika, Bird, Messam. Any reason?

    Cheetahs are shiite house?

  • @Frye yeah but I'd prefer to bank a win. A BP would be useful too.

  • I don't recognise too many in that Cheetahs team but they'll have a point to prove after SANZAARs decision. Same for the Force next week.

I'm sure Rennie is just managing player workload so if all goes well BBBR would be replaced by Bird early in the 2nd half. I know he is conscious of not overplaying Hika which is why the young hookers were used for extensive minutes in the earlier games.

The weather is going to be good so the Chiefs need to cash in. The Chiefs have a good record in Bloemfontein but they have always been high-scoring matches.

  • 10 minutes played and the Chiefs have lost Mitch Brown, who failed a concussion test. Messam is on early.

  • Too early to get worried, but the Cheetahs leading 17 to 0 after 17 minutes, is definitely not good enough from a Chiefs' perspective.

  • Bloody hell, when are the Chiefs going to wake up? That's just plain weak defence there.

  • There have been two intentional knock downs in this game so far; similar to Beauden Barrett's. No cards.

  • Great try Pulu in the corner! Finally!

  • @Rocky-Rockbottom said in Cheetahs v Chiefs:

heard Cane actually ask him "truck and trailer?" on the maul try which looked, to me, definition truck and trailer. ball nowhere near the back of the maul

Wasn't a try, local SA refs are biased

  • Can't remember seeing the Chiefs run out with such a shitty attitude and such piss-poor defence.
Where they were previously searching out gaps and space to run into, now they seem to be running into contact, plus they have missed a shitload of tackles. Farkin Cane needs to rip the skin off them at half time

  • Ah yeah, McNichol is no centre.

  • Yes well I was going to add about the ref, but really the Chiefs need to adapt to the refs rulings and quickly. There is enough international experience in that team to soak that upi and make the changes needed.

  • Why are there so many stpppages FFS

  • @Crash wasn't forward.

There's a ridiculous amount of obstruction from the cheetahs being let go though.

  • Get Big Bird on there we could do with some of his bruising style of play

  • Finally - beautiful angle cut by TKB from a McNicol pass off the deck - try!

  • And we have a game! Lowe on the end of another workmanlike team effort - try - Cruden adds the extras and for the first time in the match Chief have the lead by 2.

  • Silly game all around.

Chiefs asleep and cheetahs make them pay
Ref not bad but assistants straight out of 1980s SA tours
    Intensity level of about 2/5
Waste of every bodies time honestly ... 24/0 to 27/36 with 4:25 to play

  • Yeah that sums up this game ...

24/0 up to concede bonus point.

    Joke of a tournament

  • That's more like it - bonus point win from the Chiefs, but shit we are gonna miss TKB next season

  • The 14 minutes I spent watching the AB7s beat the USA was more entertaining than this whole game. A waste of time indeed, but I blame the Chiefs more than the Cheetahs. Cheetahs just aren't any better; Chiefs looked lazy and disinterested, especially during the first half. At least they go home with 5 points.

  • There's something about Cheetahs-Chiefs games in SA and this went to script. I'm not sure I would have been impressed after 20 mins if I watched this match live. But anyway, 5 pts and on to Perth.

ALB's knee injury is a concern as midfield options are already depleted.
