Wallabies v Scotland

  • Not having a go - although I'm sure the odd Aussie will take it that way, but seems a bit amateurish to me. Reminds me of Fitzy floating about in 1999 where it wreaked of desperation a bit. The game has moved on so much where it's hard to expect a guy to walk straight from playing into coaching at test level.

Aussie shouldn't have too many problems with Scotland though. At full strength perhaps, but with a large chunk of their team on Lions... oh never mind.

According to social media the Scots are well on the up after a convincing win against......Italy.

'In toonie we trust' or some such shit ( referring to Gregor Townsend )

Fuck, the only way I could demean myself any more would be to become a Warriors fan.

  • Forecast is for showers. Arvo footy. Should keep things interesting

Well I for one will be hoping for a repeat performance of the last time the Scots romped in the wet in Australia. What a day that was.

Reserves to be named tomorrow (Friday)

  • What the fuck? Michael Cheika speaks 47 languages and designs nice jeans apparently, but jesus naming a team is really fucking hard for him aye? Last year he couldn't nail it down to 23, this year he can't even name a bench.

It's not that hard Michael, it's not like you are swimming in talent.

That's precisely it though Mariner. He's waiting until the latest possible moment, in case one of the following occurs in the 48 hours before kick-off:

    a) Jonathon Thurston converts to rugby union, effective immediately, or
    b) Any other fucking leaguie for that matter, or
    c) Stephen Larkham comes out of retirement, or
    d) A particularly muscly Fijian walks past Cheika on his way to work, or
    e) We can blindly stumble upon someone, somewhere who isn't totally shit at rugby.

Now one, or all, of these things taking place is incredibly unlikely, but Cheik is an eternal optimist. You'd hate to be caught with a full 23 on a Friday when an ARU intern discovers there's a reserve lock from Manawatu with an Aussie grandparent... would be bloody chaos.

So I tip my hat to Cheika and this bold new approach. It will surely usher in an era of dominance that will never end.

  • @barbarian haha it's like a Country rugby club

Okay you blokes, we're only naming the starting 15, because i am pretty sure Robbo has a wedding; i think Dave fucked his shoulder at work; and Macca, chimp nuts and mullet didn't come to training, so we aren't sure if they are playing. So the bench will be whoever shows up

  • Yeah apparently Quade has a 30th on the Friday night so might be 'a bit dusty', and so we'll see how he pulls up Saturday morning and make a call then.

  • @barbarian f) Cheika walks into the closest Sydney club rooms to find a reserve hooker better than Moore.

Going by Naiyaravoro I think he'd be happy for any sized Fijian.

    Chimp nuts. Gold.

  • SFS isn't full. Bad sign considering there is NO other rugby on today in Sydney comps, either Premier or Suburban

  • 3 nil to jocks. 14 gone

  • I love the shots of Krusty in the coach's box

  • Intercept try to Scotties.

8 nil kick to come from close to the sticks

  • Was about to say the ball skills aren't great.

Must be wet. Players slipping all iver the show.

    Maintaining possession optional.

  • Not wet. Just incompetent.

Genia having a horrible game. Shit box kick. Shit grubber kick.

  • Jeez Wayne! ADVANTAGE!! FFS!

  • Definite YC but it was still a one on one chase deep into the 22. Weird call ...

  • Charge down
    Jocks in again.

    15 7

  • 17 7 as kick goes over

  • Top touch finder. Scots back into red zone

  • @booboo who are they playing 😉

  • Hoopah! breaks ... but no support

    Some tier two nation

  • Maro Itoje playing for Scotland ... YEEEEAAAHHH at a turnover

Thinking if he used arms, then penalty. Shoulder? No option but yellow because it's already late

  • @NTA Just seemed to blow it up so quick

  • Interesting to see if the Scots can back up for a second 40. They can thank their rush defence for all those points.

Wallabies need to stop with the tiddlywinks and execute better in attack. Will be easy finish if they find some skills on the break.

  • @booboo the directive now for refs - particularly when the head is involved - is to look for number of offences. If you combine late hit with anything you're pretty much fucked.

Halftime summary: we're carving Scotland up but a handful of stupid fucking kicks might as well have been directly to our own groins. Genia is having a fucking shocker against a more active defence. Give Powell half a game is my vote.

That grubber from DHP with room to move? Get fucked.

Down at half-time to Scotland? Shit that's pretty much a loss no matter what the end result. How embarassing.

  • @MN5 down at halftime to Australia is worse.

  • Ryan Wilson binned. For a country that has provided some fine loosies he's a fucken waste of space.

  • That's so dumb from Higginbum. Got them pinned on their own line in the corner, best they can do is clear it to the 22, and he gives away a dumb ruck penalty well after Scotland have won the ruck.
