did you smell the beer before drinking it?
That one still cracks me up.
that's because it is quality humour. Every time my wife gets a beer, she turns to me and says 'I am now smelling teh beer' and we chortle. Never gets old

So I find myself in a pub in Newmarket, craft beer and neck beards everywhere. I just asked for a Lion Red but having to settle for an Epic.
Lumsden? Good fun

Yep. Then Saint Alice bar for more drinks the Soul Bar for dinner. Honestly, Iād rather stayed at one place, drank lager and had some chips. First world problems I know.

First world problems indeed Lumsden's not bad - not as good as it was I think, but still decent enough. Getting around Auckland at rush hour is not straightforward ... and Lime scooters seem a good idea after a few pints

I spent New Years in the Far North so stopped off in Waipu to pick up a selection of McLeod's. I was curious to try the Paradise Pale Ale after it won the big award recently. All very nice and luckily the local supermarket now stocks a good variety of their beers.
Latterly I have been drinking a range of hazy IPAs. Drinkable but not really to my taste.

@Bovidae My local Brewery, tho a few miles away, and I'm also a McLeod. Pizza also ROCKS!
Unfortunately the brewery itself wasn't open and I wasn't waiting around until 11:30 am so ended up walking up the road to the liquor store.
@taniwharugby Yes. I bought 6 different types of beer (2 bottles each).
Great Migration
Paradise
Longboarder
Traders
Heathen
Far North Chili PilsI had previously tried Mussel Inn's Heat Rash chilli beer which has a full chilli in the bottle.

@MN5 Fook Mi, why hasn't this sort of thing spread to all stadiums?
Cos the genius's who run the caketin think hotdogs and flat mid strength monteiths are a worthy substitute.

NZ rugby stadia really cater to the lowest denominator. When I went to Wembley for the football they had bars and restaurants along with the usual greasy fare. Same at the G. Catch up NZ!

@Bovidae I thought the Chilli Pils had a great taste, but wouldnt want more than a couple...I love me chillis, but it didnt agree with me.
I'm always game to try anything spicy and grow Carolina Reapers amongst other chillies.
