BLEDISLOE 3

  • Hopefully the ABs turn up for this one in Brisbane as it could potentially be the proverbial 'banana skin'.
Australia appear to be gaining plenty of confidence again after their draw with the Boks and then their win against the Argies. Some of the skills coaching from Mick Byrne appear to be rubbing off as seen in their offloads, 'catch-pass' improvement, (especially in the forwards ), tactical field kicking running lines.
The Wallabies will be desperate for this win to end their RC campaign on a successful note.
Can the ABs get up with enough passion and enthusiasm to get a good win, seeing as they have already wrapped up the Championship and the Bledisloe.
Motivation will be their biggest obstacle.

Is this the same team that prides itself on every moment, every INCH of the game?

I doubt motivation is an issue. The injury list might be a slight worry for them, and they know its Brisbane, its a slightly improved Wallabies side, and that they don't give a FUCK about any of that because All Blacks.

So let's not go looking for early excuses.

Wallabies have improved. A bit. Probably found the best list of people available, but still a lot of questions over whether they can go 80 against the ABs.

We had a freakish start in Dunedin, and still fucking lost. So I'd say we're a few lengths away from the kind of cohesion the ABs can put on when they're under the pump.

It might be close but I'm predicting yet another bunch of noble defeat bullshit.

  • Is it a team picked from the same squad as the RC or the squad for the EOYT?

Been warming up here in Brisbane, getting into the low 30s and humid. Much better today though, either way the ball will be like soap.

  • @unite The Bledisloe 3 team will normally be picked from the RC squad, but obviously - because they've come home from travelling - they could call up players who are not in the squad if they wanted to.

The EOYT squad is usually named the Sunday after the Bledisloe 3 test and the Mitre 10 Cup semi-finals, so - if it's the same this year - that will be Sunday, 22 October.

There is no point trying this factual stuff around here. The team will be named on a Thursday.

Hi! Iā€™m from wales but a huge all black fan, will be going to the game in Cardiff with my son (which will be his 1st all black game) anyway was hoping to go take him to their hotel to get a few autographs and was wondering if anyone knows what Hotel they staying at? Thanks šŸ‘

  • @family-man Hi, awesome to take your son to his first AB match! Enjoy! I don't have an answer to your question about their hotel, but you may want to follow the All Blacks' and the players' social media accounts. Sometimes they organise open trainings or other events in the cities where they are staying, and there are usually opportunities to get autographs etc.

  • Hi @family-man another thing to watch for is opportunities at an adidas store or outlet. Usually lots of sponsor stuff happens when in the NH

  • @family-man said in BLEDISLOE 3:

  • WALLABIES SQUAD FOR BLEDISLOE CUP III

  • 10 guys in that team I've never heard of. And another 3 or 4 I'd never heard of before the RC.

Is it a sign that I don't watch enough super rugby, or have they just selected a heap of bolters?

  • @gunner the former.

  • @stargazer Cheers

So will Hansen give those that have had a heavy work load a spell and use a few of the squad that have had little minutes over the RC in this one? With the current injury list that is likely to be pretty risky I would expect. Wallabies have been steadily improving over the RC since the first RC match.

    Match Officals

    Referee: Wayne Barnes (England)
Assistant 1: Marius van der Westhuizen (South Africa)
Assistant 2: Egon Seconds (South Africa)
    TMO: Marius Jonker (South Africa)

  • Sounds like Matt Duffie will be on the All Blacks end of season tour, spoke to a family member a couple of days ago,he's been told to put his November wedding on hold, great reward for a player that's got incredible ball skills when it comes to anything in the air,not to mention deceptively strong and quick..!
Could spell the end of the Bus..!

    Hi Leyton.

  • Not sure whether Liam Napier's opinion is based on any rumours or facts ...

The All Blacks are unlikely to call up a replacement for Nehe Milner-Skudder in the final Bledisloe Cup test in Brisbane next weekend. Waisake Naholo, in top form in his return to test rugby against the Pumas in Argentina and again with Taranaki in the Ranfurly Shield defence last Wednesday night in New Plymouth, is expected to take Milner-Skudder's spot on the right wing for the Wallabies.

With Rieko Ioane on the other wing; Damian McKenzie at fullback and David Havili proving he, too, is comfortable with the step up, the All Blacks have plenty of cover for now. That alone speaks volumes with Milner-Skudder joining Israel Dagg, Jordie Barrett and Ben Smith on the unavailable back three list after dislocating his shoulder in Cape Town.

Provided he passes his concussion tests, Beauden Barrett offers further cover by sliding back to fullback and pushing McKenzie to the wing later in the match if needed.

The All Blacks are, however, certain to include one, possibly two, extra wings in their end-of-year tour contingent. That may pave the way for Tamanivalu's return, with Matt Duffie and Julian Savea possibly fighting it out for another outside back role. ...

The next crop of New Zealand halfbacks will also have to continue to bide their time with Tawera Kerr-Barlow expected to go on the end of year tour, despite soon departing to French club La Rochelle.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen has also declared he won't take an apprentice north. Rampaging Wellington hooker Asafo Aumua was favoured for this role but, if he is to make the trip, he will need to edge out Nathan Harris.

  • @Stargazer will be celebrating

NEWS | Richie Mo'unga called into #AllBlacks squad for third #BledisloeCup Test.

Meanwhile, Patrick Tuipulotu will remain with the squad as a replacement for Luke Romano. Romano and wife Hannah recently welcomed a baby boy, and he will stay in New Zealand. Matt Todd will also remain with the squad.

Brodie Retallick will also not be travelling to Brisbane.

  • No BBBR and BB is in doubt. This game is starting to worry me a bit. Would not want to drop a game to this mob, we wouldn't hear the end of it.

These four played for the Vikings in their big win over the Rays on Sunday. Rory went off with what looked like a corked thigh just above the knee. I'd be surprised to see him play on the weekend given how tender it looked.

They'd have earned it. Dunedin shoudl have been a win to the Wobbles. And they love BrisVegas - it's a good groudn for them.

If our tighties turn up, we'll win - same old story that it's won or lost up front. Hoping that big Patty T starts to really hit his old straps.

Now I'm slightly annoyed that Tasman doesn't have Canterbury - Canterbury with RM and without are two different propositions.

  • @chris-b Your ability to bring Tasman up in any given thread/situation is impressive.

  • @kiwimurph You would have noticed it even more if you guys had been relegated - believe me! šŸ™‚

However, you'll likely be cut a break on my Tasman postings from Thursday.

  • @KiwiMurph I was just thinking the other day: why the fuck aren't they playing this game in Nelson?

    šŸ˜‰

  • @nta An excellent question. šŸ™‚

Wouldn't be the first test match the Wallabies have played on Traf. Park.

However, we can start with an ABs -Argies match as a curtain-raiser - despite Tim of Arc's "voices"! šŸ™‚

  • Sounds like Beauden Barrett is a non starter for the weekend as he took no part in the training today.

For the Wallabies Izack Rodda will have shoulder surgery this week, so is out for the rest of the year.
