@Bones said in TV Serieseseses:
@Rembrandt is black mirror the one that starts with them in some futuristic gym or some weird thing where they work?
first one I think was the computer geek who is ignored by his workmates proceeds to clone his workmates and then supplants them in his fantasty sci-fi series where he is the hero. I did fall asleep but what I saw was sort of entertaining and humourous. mate did say some episodes get a bit darker

Has anyone watched the Black Mirror series on Netflix - have been told it is great. Otherwise have just started Series 1 of Berlin Station now that I have some time (until Super Rugby) and this looks promising
Stick with Berlin Station.
It's a grower.
me too!
honest...
do I detect a bit of mischieviousness in the use of the word honest there.

Unless I am not understanding your post, wasn't the first episode the one where the British PM was being blackmailed into doing something that many on the Fern have fantasised about?
Some episodes of Black Mirror had a wow factor for me, others were a bit meh.

Quite possible, I may well have not started at the beginning, I am capable of such things

The OA is supposedly returning to Netflix for series 2 very very soon, first series was good for anyone after a good series, alternative/ mystery /new agey/ type shenanigans.
Someone mentioned SAS who dares wins, brilliant reality/challenge series from ch4 UK. Worth a watch. Recently read one of the instructors book (Jason Fox) about his battles with PTSD, think all of the other instructors have books of their own too,totally not something I'd usually read but very good,nice guy.
Awaiting Handmaid's Tale S3,June? Apparently they want to go 10series, if it turns into The Walking Dead I'll be pissed off.
Obviously GOT will have my full attention.
Latest Netflix binges:
Agree with all above Ted Bundy discussions,that man, that mind, awful.
"The Magic Pill" very inspiring keto diet documentary,quite moving how it has changed people's lives and gone against the trad health authority.
Watched Nightflyers, a few eps in not impressed at all so abandoned that. -
@Rembrandt said in TV Serieseseses:
For those who like 'Making a murderer' and 'Ted Bundy files' I highly recommend 'innocent man' incredible true story, I'm about 2 episodes from the end
Yeah watched that recently too, just shows it doesn’t pay to live in the mid west and piss off local cops..

Almost finished 3 seasons of Lilyhammer, starring Steven van Zandt (of E Street Band and Soprano's fame) as a Mafioso who takes up witness protection in Norway after being captivated by the Olympics in his younger years.
Netflix's first foray into production apparently and puzzlingly cancelled after 3 seasons. It's fucken brilliant, highly recommend.

Russian Doll -Netflix
Rated 5stars but I'm beginning to wonder how these get rated...? I'd say 3/5 so far. It's taking some getting into,actually a bit annoying in the same way "Ground Hog Day" gets a bit samey but some good humour and quirky cast. -
@RLx31 not sure how far through you are, but I too found it a bit samey for the first few episodes then things got a bit more interesting. Enjoyed it overall.
-
Russian Doll was great ... I didn't think it started of samey, other than it was supposed to be slightly repetitive at the beginning as that's the conceit. But agree that it got better as it went along. The addition of a particular cast member was what made the show.
-
@Nepia @Crazy-Horse yeah it's not awful by any means, I shall stick with it then if it picks up. I'm maybe 4 in on an episode where she has just met someone like her in a lift...reckon this is will make it more interesting.
-
@Hooroo I was looking at that the other day after looking at Doom Patrol...although have Titans lined up next anyway.
Finished Origin, a Youtube sci-fi.
Was ok, kinda a whodunnit in space as thier huge ship slowly travels on to thier new home.

@Hooroo said in TV Serieseseses:
Anyone watch Umbrella Academy? Just started it (2 episodes in) and am liking.
Yep, just started and like you 2 eps in to it. Hasn’t grabbed me yet but there’s enough there to make me continue.

@Hooroo said in TV Serieseseses:
Is it a fairly new series then? I like what I have seen so far in terms of the varying characters
Yeah I think it is , I’d like to know why the bearded guys body seems out of proportion to his head and ehybthe chimp can talk .
