Chocks away - 2011 training - your time starts... now...
-
JK, chicks have a physique class - the lady to my left, the big boppers, and figure, the chick to my right, which is the same as my class - a height to weight thing so you can't get too big.

Plan now - Philippines comp in about 17 days or so, then off season, and keep on growing chest, shoulders and arms, and then defend a title, I'vw won it twice and lost it once, now I want to defend...

Then maybe I can retire.

and maybe not. -
yeah Cyclo - won one lost one, won one back - defence going to be the tough part now...

Kirwan - yep. you hae overall in athletic, physique (men and women and figure). All the class winners do another comparison round at the end of the night and the overall done from there.

Athletic for instance has International, Open Short, Open tall, Novice short, novice tall and Masters. All those winners then but heads for the overall Mr New Zealand title. at the moment, MY title!! LOL. -
the physique monsters are always softer than the athletic competitors, buggered if I know why - with that amount of muscle, if you got your body fats WAAAAY down, you'd look even better.

yes, defend the title - or win it again. I think I was driven this year by the fact that I lost to my mate Rick last year for the overall. So all trainings have been focused. So the new mantra is, "train like you're in second place". oe some such, I am sure I have seen that somewhere in the past! -
stood on the scales today for the first time since the weigh in on Friday where I was 77 point something. 85 kg. now hopefully the water will start coming out - certainly heading to the toilet more often now which is always a good thing! Ness's water coming off now - she's down 2 kilos from yesterday to today. I was too scared to weight myself yesterday!! NOt really, but it does play with your head the weight gain, even though you do KNOW that it is fluid retention after the dehydration for the comp.

Ceratinly the dryest I've been for a comp ever. AFter the show I almost could not stop drinking. Had a 6 pack of Pepsi Max in the fridge at the unit where we were staying (you skull back a can at halftime between shows), and when we got back at midnight-ish, I had downed the remaining 4 cans within half an hour - along with the two cokes we got with our Maccas on the way home. And a bottle of mizone and some horrible Musashi sports drink that we won on stage. And was still looking for more!! No wonder there was not much room for food!! -
83.3 this morning - 1.7kg of fluid flushed in 24 hours. Slower to come off after each competition - I call it the speed wobbles. They get more and more with each competition as you go along. So I think we've got it pretty right with doing 3 in a season - this 4th is do-able, but any more and I think the body would really rebel against itself. The post Philippines wobble is going to be fun - adding in a flight too, water retention going to be just fab. Although as we are going to be offshore the goody box we take won't be half as big, and less sugars, more savoury on the post comp binge certainly helps!

todays workout second chest . back / biceps of the week. Heaps stronger on the incline press. And is funny, with the extra fluid in the muscles there's this really big looking bloke looking back at me from the mirrors - more like a physique competitor than an athletic, is cool!! -

Man, you look awesome. Following along this ride has been inspirational (makes me push a bit harder on my workouts, and probably many others seek to do likewise), I hope you keep your motivation, interest and success up. Good luck for the next 2 weeks. Heck, it must be doubly hard given your flagging energy, and the RWC in the final stages, especially with losing Carter, Mils, McCaw Gooone for the rest of the cup, Kaino out of the semi-final with rib bruising, half the backs injured.<img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

Maybe stay a week longer....
yeah cheers Kea, she's a struggle at the moment - mornings not too bad, afternoons terrible, evening after dinner not so bad. Moods up and down as the food goes up and down. Cardio at the gym, treadmill almost not moving - then cycle, again it keeps saying hurry up you're coasting!

But getting there.

Weight down to 80.9 this morning after 1 day of no carbs - down 1.1. Drinking yesterday about 8 litres of water, and same today and tomorrow before cutting down quick for the harbour comp this weekend.

Ness this morning is shattered, tired tired tired. I think sometimes that helps, as it means you have to stop bitching and worrying about yourself and be strong for the two of you, pick up the slace etc. Last two days Ness has done the dinner cooking and the lunch prep for net day, it's been good, as I usully do all the cooking and next day prep. but tonight it'll be me, sit the lass down and let her veg out. That is, IF she wants too - sometimes that prep is theraputic. But you've got to read the signs, and sometimes you get them wrong - then you're damned if you do and damned if you don't...!

and the support here from you blokes too is good when you're up and when you're down. What a bunch of nerds we are! -
The mind games, especially near competitions, seem crazy! some many contradictions with BB - you look mean and super strong yet you are on that edge of just having enough kai/energy to workout and then flex and pose at comps!! add in the tricky business of hydration and no wonder you don't know if you are coming or going some days.

Keep it up guys!!
