North Harbour vs Tasman
-
Handy news - Tasman is getting Tim Perry and Shannon Frizell released this week.
Also...
Liam Coltman is set to front for the blue and golds for the first time in almost two years, when they visit Manawatū.
Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi (Taranaki), Ardie Savea (Wellington), Luke Whitelock (Canterbury) and Nehe Milner-Skudder (Manawatū) will also play.
-
@chris-b Yep. Yet Richie apparently doesn't need a run. Grr. Now let everyone whinge about a Cantab wanting a player released....
-
@shark seems daft he hasnt been released, but on the flipside, does that mean he will be starting the next test, coming in off a 5? week break since his last game (maybe he shoulda been released to Canterbury last week and back into camp this week?)
-
@taniwharugby Surely going to feature in the 23 next week? Question of whether he starts or is on the bench.
I'm gonna bet on Beaudy getting dropped! After all, Hansen was a second five, so he knows what it's like to be stuck outside a glory seeking hungus who scores all the tries himself!

-
@stargazer That will be interesting to watch. Blackadder can play 8, but I don't really recall Shannon playing there. Some size and power if he can get the rest of the game right.
That team is getting close to the strongest we could field. Fredericks, Ainley, Havili and Guyton possibly in the mix in the strongest team - given we're unlikely to see Squire or Hames.
-
Harbour are Tasman's bogey team.....

Apart from a good 15 minute spell last week, North Harbour have been poor to start off the season. They tend to play to the level of their opponents so I expect a good performance from them tonight.

Direction from Hansen for Tongan Frizell to play 8? Got to find somewhere to put him because even the lock from his franchise looks a better prospect at 6.
I expect him to play like a man amongst boys in this match with his hype/reputation.

Haha you are starting to get to Davidav vs Toeava levels with your anti Frizell campaign. Im looking forward to actually seeing him play. I wonder if he is any good.
Hansen did mention that Frizell was an option to cover 8 back during the French series so you might be right about the message being passed down the levels.

Also, you have about 10 competitors at any given time on a Blues thread when it comes to Collins.
The odd ascension of Tongan Frizell almost went unremarked before I heroically hoisted my rusty sword.
TBF my interest in this game is way higher than it would be otherwise.
-
@pukunui You've got every Blues fans on here competing for the anti Michael Collins award.
-
Great team try from Taskman. Fainga'anuku finishes a Tasman attack with great offloads from several players. Makalio, Hunt, very good. Hunt converts via the upright. 10 - 3 Tasman
-
Cowley-Tuioti with the try for Harbour. 10 all.
Entertaining game thus far.
-
Wow, another try. Line-out, Finlay to Frizell to Fainga'anuku to Jordan.
Tasman leads again: 17 - 10.
-
Try Frizell!
-
HT: Harbour 13 - 22 Tasman
That first 40 was a good watch.
-
Really enjoying watching Tasman. They look a well coached team.
Stating the obvious, but Jordan is a wonderful player. Hope he stays injury free because I am really looking forward to see what he can do at the next level. Future AB. He's looking a bit bigger this year too.
-
That was dogshit, where was the rest of the team while he wa getting hammered back the best part of 20m?
-
Loketi Manu had a bit of a rough first half, particularly defensively.
-
Geez, that was a great try from Duffie. Awesome cross-kick, too. 18 - 22 Tasman
-
Sensational from Duffie.
-
Should have been Tasman's ball. It was a maul (no knees on the ground).
-
Perry ...
-
Makalio's skillset is ridiculous. Sublime skills.
-
Yellow for Chris Eves.
Aumua is looking good. Strong ball runner.
-
@kiwimurph I know I sound like a broken record, but I really would like to see him in the ABs. Much better than Harris and Coltman. Should be next in line after Taylor and Coles.
-
Tough call on the forward pass.
-
@crazy-horse Yeah, I had my doubts about that call. It was just really flat. Looked good to me.
-
If that was forward,I need glasses
-
Geez, Christie has stuffed up several almost-tries now. Great break from David Havili.
-
Jordan is one of those players that always seems to be in support whenever a break is made. Reminds me of Ben Smith.
-
Terrible officiating there.
-
Ball handling from Tasman is really, really good. Nice team try.

Oh FFS, I'm switching between this match and Thurston's last match and I swear I've missed every try in both games!
My own fault, I should have put one on FoxGo.
-
For all Gatland's good work he is often error prone.
