Dan Hollinshead also to New York.

More returnodous but Victor Vito is coming back to NZ. Wonder if he'll keep playing or retire.
-
@Yeetyaah Great player; I always rated him. We're not short of good 8/6 players at the moment, but he could still add value, particularly off-field, mentoring the young ones. Same role as Bryn Evans, NMS, Dan Carter ... (but hopefully without the injuries).
-
It annoyed me that the ABs insisted on playing him at 6, and were disappointed when he suddenly didn;t become big and smashy. Playing at 8 he was awesome, so skillful.

not the first player to have guys in front of him that were just so much better.

@Stargazer Vito was huge for us in 2015 and 2016 and probably left in his prime. Didn't he win the French club player of the year in his first season over there?

Yup he was great, he was always put at 6 for ABs. Better than Read often
-
-
Well over-egged, good ferning.
Would have probably put him under huge pressure for the 8 jersey if he’d stayed, but Read’s decline happened at about the same time as Vito and Luatua left.
-
@machpants I can vouch for that personally....
-
@yeetyaah Victor Vito was outstanding for the Hurricanes team that made the final in 2015 and won the title in 2016. I thought he did everything asked of him in the 2015 RWC campaign, arguably the second best 6 at that tournament behind Jerome Kaino. He did very well indeed in France initially winning Player of the Season there. If he still wants to play Rugby on his return to NZ, he will be at least NPC standard.

It’s is bad that all I will remember him for is him getting knocked out playing for BOP and my son goes dad why is he having a sleep on the field....I burst into laughter
-
-
@tim residency is 5 years now yeah? Wouldn't be Scottish qualified until he's 29.
-
@yeetyaah playing the long game!
-
-
-
@taniwharugby yeah it feels too old for an outside for our standards but Wales just chucked a 30 year old Uilisi Halaholo a debut.
-
-
@daffy-jaffy Didn't realise he was an Irishman! Still I suppose he will probably find some Irish ancestry in about five years from the time he first plays there.
-
It's just a rumour. And Leinster chasing him doesn't necessarily mean that he'll sign with them.
As long as it hasn't officially been confirmed, it isn't really news.
-
Sefo Kautai has picked up a contract with the Brumbies according to their FB page
Edit: Looks like it is just as injury cover for Super Rugby AU
-
-
He may as well go (I’m not saying I want him to btw).
He’s had a few chances and hasn’t quite nailed it. His form so far this year is flat and he’s running out of years to get established. There are others clearly preferred (they’re even moving 13s there) and there are others coming (Tupaea, Faiane, TUJ) plus there is the form of Havili.
Covid could be a blessing in keeping him here though, but if it were me I would go get the money.
-
@gt12 but but but Lomu got better
just give him more tiiiiiime

Brilliant. Tries to mock but gets the wrong name, making it just sound weird...
-
Ngani is a hypocrite if he goes to Stade Francais. Dude blared on about playing for a smaller city union and now he's off to Paris? Lmaomape.

A bit later than normal due to COVID, we're at that stage in the French domestic competition that the rumour mills start turning again.
This is one of the rumours. Sounds like there's still lots of water to go under the bridge.
Is it just me or does he look like a heavier Avon Barksdale in this picture?
-
Michael Alaalatoa has signed with Leinster. 29 years old, so not surprising that he's going to cash in up north.
-
Laumape is unlikely to go. If anybody is likely to go it will be David Havili

Really hope not. Such a classy player.
-
@mackerzzzz Except that .... Havili has re-signed through to 2023 and Laumape is off-contract.

It's very insightful of you to suggest that at some point in his life, Havili might play for an overseas club. Can I have the lotto numbers please?

to be fair, playing for Stade Francais sounds fucking ace. I reckon if a rep turned up with a fat contract to live in paris and play code for a metric fuckload of money it would be pretty frikken hard to turn down.

Paris will respect his name more than here.
It’s probably a bit more classy than living in Palmy too at a guess
