Ireland are plating in blue jerseys for goodness sake. Willie John McBride, Mike Gibson nd Tom Kiernan and many others must be shaking their heads at that.

Finished 57-14. Yet another impressive win for Joe Schmidt's Ireland.

Poor semi pro Americans, a highlight of their career for some of them and all they'll get for a souvenir is a crappy blue Leinster look-alike shirt.

Sickening arrogance from the world's number 1 team. Tier 2s not considered worthy of wearing the green ...

23 extra sales at the gift shop today as 23 young Americans forced to go buy a proper Ireland replica shirt for keepsakes.

It's pretty common now to play some random alternative shirt, but internationally teams should not be doing it. But money pulls the strings

The Irish players on the USA team insisted on it - they said that they had oodles of green shirts so they wanted something different.

Alternatively, like with the Springboks they allow the away team to wear their home jersey.

Isn't there only a requirement to changes shirts in the event of a clash of colours? USA were playing in white????

Yeah it's done to make money, same as NZ SR sides wear alternate strips when away. Other wise people don't often see the alt strip and won't buy it.

People who buy alt strips should be confronted in the street and have it pointed out to them that they are fluffybunnies and that they are the problem.
