All Black Coach - Ian Foster
-
Next AB coach?
-
Joseph or Gatland.. maybe Rennie
-
Just the one vote?
-
@Bovidae Balls on the line. Who do you want.
-
Joseph
-
Great to see so many people voting for Krusty - Kiwi sense of humour rising to the loss.
-
@Tim I've been consistent on who I want. Rennie.
I'd take Joseph and Brown as well.
It won't be Gatland with his Lions commitments.
-
Garland ain't available because of his Lions contract.
I voted for Jamie Joseph. Needs new assistants too. I'd approach Scott Robertson, Tony Brown and Brad Thorn. Tough men to toughen the ABs up.
Dave Rennie did a great with the Chiefs, but hasn't been nearly as impressive at Glasgow.

Ah, I forgot about that. Good point.
-
Shocked that Foster is currently running as high as 7th equal albeit on a technicality as he is tied with all those others yet to receive a single vote.
-
Rennie reminds me the most of Ted - has by far the most experience but still seems to have the magic touch. He probably can command the best backroom too?
-
Think we need some fresh blood. Joseph & Razor for me.
Razor is a shrewd coach and Joseph certainly instills belief, passion and mongrel in a team. The latter seems to have fallen off in the 2-3 seasons.
-
Rennie for me, taking over a failing Foster team and winning shit sounds familiar for some reason.
-
Good to see the Hammerteur or Philpott are not available to vote for as that lessons the competition challenging Foster for last place.
-
I voted for Gatland but would be happy with Joseph or Rennie. But the elephant in the room for me is the player pool. I think that is the issue for NZ rugby. For example, who are the next three no 8's now KR is gone?

Different cattle but Glasgow made the Pro 14 final last year. After the M10 Cup final result it makes his success with Wellington even more impressive.

What Cooper did with the Chiefs this year was pretty impressive. Like to see him in the mix as well.
-
Draw a line under the Henry-Hansen era and start with a clean sheet - Joseph, Razor and Brown as a new iteration of the TWM.
-
If the next coaching set up doesn't have Tony Brown, the NZR have lost the plot.

Gatland? No thanks. Haven’t you seen him singing the Welsh anthem. That’s un-New Zealand

Dear Sirs and Madams,
Don't even think about making Ian Foster the next All Blacks coach.
Yours faithfully,
Sparky
PS From me too
-
Joseph for me. Next Robertson. Next Rennie.
And Tony Brown in the mix.
When you consider the highlanders then the brave blossoms, Joseph looks a great coach.
-
PS - while you are at it Whereabouts is that ridiculous 1996 Tri Nations trophy kept? It deserves to be seen in public again.
-
-
Joseph, but I'd quite like him to bring on Gatland and Foster as technical advisors for a year or two. Brown or Rennie assistant, then bring in Razor when Gatland and Foster are gone as other assistant.
-
Us. All of us here, the rest of them are useless pricks that lose all of the time.
Oh, and Joseph for head coach. He gets to pick assistants.

We should think of constructive things to say...
-
@sparky Jesus Christ is this real?

Yep, the makers of the trophy mixed up inches with cms and produced a super-sized trophy.
It's last known whereabouts were in the NZ Rugby Museum in Palmerston North:

-
Who ever it is needs to get Robertson out of the Crusaders and Blackadder back in. At least Blackadder was able to manage his All Blacks to cruise through Super rugby without giving two Fu&&$. Robertson has them giving everything and it's impacting on the ABs
-
Why no Plumtree

@Chris and me

Joseph agree. But he needs Brown as an assistant. They are a great combination. Maybe Plumtree as well but definitely not as head coach. We would end up with a 1.90m lock and lots of plodders in the team.
-
Joseph for me with Brown and maybe Garland too.
Brown for the Wayne Smith style backline, Garland for the oppressive defence and Joseph can coach journeymen in Highlander and Japan teams to play above themselves. What would he do with more talented players?
Time for a nastier AB team.
-
Wayne Grey on the NZ Herald site is doing a live chat. He thinks Foster is highly regarded by the NZRU and has the inside running to be the next coach.

Totally agree with this point. Time to be polite but not nice again.
I'd love to see Sean Fitzpatrick involved as a selector or in management of the ABs setup, but he is too involved with UK TV and Lareaus.
-
I'd go with Robertson as head coach with experienced assistants (Brown for the backs and Mitchell for the defence and the forwards).

Too unproven and we need to step away from a Crusaders bias.
-
I voted for Joseph.
Would prefer Rennie, but did not vote for him because Australian media are insistent that Rennie is the next Australian coach, with back room staff already informed of it.
I would prefer a total reset with Foster and McLeod not involved.
