Data comes from https://himawari.asia/himawari8-image.htm
It's Japanese satellite, real time imagery. I just did it for my own amusement.

That is spectacular (in a bad way)
Over what time period is this? One day?

Melbourne is having another Climate protest tomorrow ignoring police pleas to postpone due to expected resource drain on a predicted very difficult day for emergency personal.
Hoping the general public leave this one alone, the core of Melbourne's bi-weekly protests is about 20 odd communist folk who jump on any cause which allows them to advocate for the destruction of western society. Amongst this group is the odd uni professor, some gender study type students, dole bludging members of various socialist groups- which are all extremely annoying, but worse than that are a few genuinely unhinged folk who would be on extremely short odds to have started some fires this year 'for the greater good'.

And while the fires continue to burn, the economic fallout begins
Food prices will go up soon.
Chinese New Year is a huge for tourism, and it's about to be hammered. The Chinese are cancelling in huge numbers. Estimates of 40-50% down on last year. And that's all over the country, money just gone from the economy. We in Cairns are further away from the fires than most of you in NZ are, but that doesn't matter.
When these towns rebuild, it will take time for people to go back there on holiday, and that puts their on-going livelihoods at risk.

That is pretty good.
A lot is semantics and the way things are presented and he is correct. The initial bit is why it is called climate change, not global warming. Australia isn't immune and being so bloody huge each region will feel different affects.
I suppose they can't just say 50% of the ignition is caused by morons (not arson).
