@Donsteppa has to be done if these people want to see another Summer. I assume the staff will be screened big time
I've been wondering how that might work. Given the way coronavirus could spread through an aged care facility, a further risk is that most of the staff end up away sick/quarantined, and that could get even more hairy very quickly... not a great situation at all.

@Donsteppa Radio NZ had Brett O'Riley (CEO Employers & Manufacturers) and Shamubeel Eaqub noted left wing millennial supporting economist commenting on the package.
They both thought it was a very good response. If you can get those to both back it then it must be a bloody work of art.
Seems a pretty reasonable response to me. It will hopefully disincentivise those sick but with no leave entitlements from going to work.

Questions about NZ .
-
How do you get masks? Are there enough?
-
What are the checking and enforcement measures when you are told to self-quarantine by doctors or the airport staff in terms of making sure people actually follow the directives
-
Are bars open?
-
From casual observation, can anyone say whether NZers are avoiding being in large groups (social gatherings etc.) at the moment?

Mask thing isn't a biggie here(Due to not a high density population). Someone just got deported right now due to not self isolating, they are doing random checks. Bars are open (Thank Goodness)
Groups of under 500 still OK.
Racing industry has just banned people from attending races except for race personell

-
@Donsteppa think Ryman who have villages all over had advised contractors last week they would be doing this too.

Outstanding, this needs to happen, if only to send a clear message.

Groups of 500 okay. Why's that? They are saying no events or gatherings of more than 500. Which pretty much means no big events.
We would have 100 people at golf on a good Saturday and we aren't cancelling anything like that.
@taniwharugby It's nice to see that it's not growing exponentially like it did at first in Korea and has done in Spain/Italy. I remember someone mentioning in an earlier that that those countries kind of took one for the team. Maybe that is proving correct?

just had a further 3 cases
Foreseen. What I don't want to see is drastically increasing numbers of new cases

So Welly had cancelled it's rugby, all netball is off
Everyone else basically has to follow suit

I suspect we don't have enough tests to go around
Isolation is the next best thing. The mum is being a little bit histrionic, but obviously it would be nice to know that the tests will be more readily available soon. It makes containment strategies even more important

Given some of the stories about how hard it has been to get tested, I wonder how much of an undercount our figures might be.

And the stories about how loose our border control has been
