30 Day Paleo Challenge
-
Ive calmed down a bit, but at one stage i was eating, among other things, 2 large packets of nacho chips, several jam donuts, macdonalds, tacos, packet of minties, timtams and ice cream. Was crapping up a storm the next day. Now im more into the schnitzel, pasta type foods. Used to only have the one cheat meal but since I train 6 times a week the pt advised to go it the whole day. Might have taken that too far though (:

What would be a typical meal day for you? You're an endomorph right? -

Nah not really much of an endomorph. I'm more ecto if anything, but the skinny fat kind. Hold weight on my belly and hips pretty hard and struggle to build mass where it matters (chest, arms etc). It's the shittiest of lot - noted some stuff about it in http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/index.php/topic/32242-jk-vs-2014-time-to-grow/page-43

But a typical day of eats for me on a week day at the moment is approx 340g carbs, 210grams protein and about 75-80grams fat - around 2900 cals. Carb levels vary most days as a I cycle carbs dependent on heavier training days etc. Protein and fats stay pretty steady.

When I'm looking to lose weight I just cut the carbs back to 50-100grams, protein goes up a bit and fats too usually need to increase a bit to ensure still have a decent amount of calories taken in.
-
Seems like you have total control! Don't count calories myself but should start. Carbs have become a bad word but they are pretty damn important for growth.
-

92.5kg this week ... I was probably 93.3kg last week - I left of the .3 in my last post. Have been eating bread for two weeks now and the weight is still coming off which is good - although I've been eating the Burgen Soy and Linseed which has about half the carbs per two slices as any 90% of the other breads. Had a donut the other day and have had some noodles when out for Asian food. Had Mexican the other night too. I think I just keep a better eye on what and how much I'm eating these days and I've killed the sugar bug mostly.

What is crazy is that in the past when I've lost weight, or tried to lose weight it's always been in conjunction with doing hard out exercise. IMHO, what I've been doing has worked much better, modify eating and walk 60 - 100 minutes a day at my normal speed. Usually I'll do a 60 minute morning walk and a 30-40 minute evening, but somedays I'll just do the one or two 40 minutes. I listen to podcasts so don't feel I'm wasting my time.

I know some, ahem, heavy people who have personal trainers but don't seem to lose weight, I just think they push them too hard so they just wind up eating bucket loads.

In saying that I'm able to start doing some weights from Monday so I'll be getting into that as my arms have shrunk a bit - why is it always the belly and hips that go last?
-

So I have been doing this for roughly 10 weeks now and I'm down to 91kg! Crazy, I never thought the weight would come off so easily.

I have to say thanks to Kirwan for starting this thread that I hijacked as I know that participating in it helped me stick to it. And cheers to everyone who offered food suggestions and gave me encouragement! A round of applause to the Fern.
-

Nice work mate, let's use the high figure. So 14kg progress? That's excellent, I'm still hovering around 8kg so far.

I'm well into the buying new clothes stage, 32inch jeans are loose, it's a good feeling.
-

Nice work to you too - you probably wouldn't have had the easy fat to burn off like I did.

I haven't worn jeans in ages and tried a couple of my pairs on and they just dropped straight down. So yep, looks like I'll be going shopping soon,

What is annoying is that I just had some shirts tailored and they're now already a bit baggy!
-

Update: After two weeks of eating in restaurants, festival foods, fast foods, and the odd bag of lollies (and some sugar free chocolate that tastes great) I'm currently weighing in at 89.5kgs on my uncle's scales which may be a kg too light. So 89.5kg or 90.5kg either way I'm bloody pleased with that.

Still have a bit of fat on the puku but it's good to be under 100cm around the waist ... but not yet at the 32inch jeans stage.
-

It's been a while since I've updated. I'm not eating anally anymore, still have my normal meals etc but am eating a wee bit more junk on weekend etc (and I've developed a slight addiction to Freddo biscuits after my nephews opened my world to them). At any rate I'm still losing weight I was down to 86kg when I weighed last week so I'm still happy.
