There had to be changes after the dreadful performance last week
Aso has been a bit disappointing this year so hes dropped to the reserves. So Savea gets his chance to start at 2nd 5.
The scrum has been poor. A different locking combo so see if this makes any difference. And Delany looks very promising but hes a bit small for a lock (1.94m/91kg) so keen to see how he goes at 6

@Winger Needed a change of captain mid season I think Blackwell is hardly inspirational too late now can see us losing to be honest
-
Urgh, this is like Eng v Oz or BoP v Canterbury - I hate games where I want them both to lose equally.
I'll think I'll go for the underdog.
-
@Winger I love your work, posting the team a few hours after is first in the thread everywhere
-
Wellington have wasted Aso this season by putting him at 12. He thrives in the wider channels.
-
@Dice yeah wider channels over the touchline, were missing PUJ big time he provided some punch in the midfield

If anyone else posts it, it's their opinion. Winger only deals in fact.
-
The 'Poo up five nil after about twenty five minutes. Is anyone watching live, I am only following it through online scoring updates?

Watching both games.
Manawatu making some breaks in the last few minutes. Their try was really good.
Wellington need to wake up
..and as I write that Numia scores
-
We really need Wgtn to win to keep Canterbury in with a chance of relegation. Not that I am in any way supporting the Lions of course, that goes without saying!
-
That was a nice try... obstruction?
-
Yep.
-
I'm sorry but this referee is a disgrace. How that Turbos try was an obstruction?
Terrible decisions, not taking decision on broken scrums, not taking the clock off on TMO's. This is just plain terrible. He's ruined that game.
-
Strange yellow hard
-
Uninspiring season but at least we stay in the division. We should have won at least one more game and made the playoffs. The game against Canterbury in particular was a game we just completely blew.
-
Waikato (29 points) is losing by 11 points with a few minutes left
They need a bonus point to get ahead of Wellington now. Hard on attack. No luck
I assume if two teams are on equal points it comes down to point diff (not games won. Waikato won 6 Wellington 5)
Wellington won 31 - 5
Total diff == 26+11 = 37 points. So points diff now favour wellington
-
@nakosi definite obstruction.
-
@Winger if they are on the same points, it comes down to who beat who.

If two teams are level on competition points, the winner of their round-robin match determines which is placed higher. After that, it’s points difference. After that, well, let’s hope it doesn’t get that complicated and it’s unlikely to.
If it does, as was the case in the Farah Palmer Cup when three teams were tied on 21 points in the north pool, the tiebreaker rules if three or more teams are level on competition points are as follows:
The tied Provincial Union with the most competition points in that year against the other tied Provincial Unions, shall have the higher position; If three of more Provincial Unions have an equal number of competition points against the other tied Provincial Unions, the tied Provincial Union which has the higher points in the Round Robin will have the higher position.
-
@Winger yup that's what I said, who beat who. I can't remember who won the welly Waikato game?

I've never seen a clearer case of attempting to catch the ball. You see guys being passed the ball spilling it like that all the time!

Savea proved in that game yet again how rubbish he actually is he looks so lost when he doesn’t have the ball I think he was just hitting rucks so he didn’t wander around in the backline lost, anyone else hoping that Blackwell’s shoulder injury was serious enough to rule him out of rugby until 2023

Wondered why he went off. shame wellington missed the semi as I'm sure the team would be a lot better without him
-
@Winger his shoulder I think he was grabbing it if we had made the semis we might have won the whole thing with some actual leadership.
