Pretty close there C4L, just JGP instead of TTT.

  • That midfield stands out like dogs nuts as the weak (inexperienced) link doesn't it.

I'm really keen to see how Laumape goes though, always liked him as a loigue player.

I'm really keen to see how Laumape goes though, always liked him as a loigue player.Certainly looks bare when for as long as I can remember C Smith and M Nonu were two of the first names on the team sheet

  • Big blow with Dane Coles injuring himself in the final training run before they head over to Aus. Looks like Leni Apisai will start and TJ Perenara will take the reigns. .

  • Crap! Wish I had waited until tomorrow to submit my picks.

  • New locks, new centres and no Coles. Hopefully the new guys have what it takes. Still plenty of strike power though.

  • Possible shower in the evening coming off a forecast 31 degree day. Already got my tickets, hoping the Canes flog the Brumbies and all the public servants don't turn up for the remainder of the season...

  • Brumbies by 12

  • New locks, new centres and no Coles

    Well that's us farked then

  • Lots of talent in that team but worried about the inexperienced midfield combo.

  • Brumbies line-up:

    1. Allan Alaalatoa  2. Stephen Moore (c)  3. Ben Alexander  4. Rory Arnold  5. Sam Carter  6. Scott Fardy  7. David Pocock  8. Ita Vaea
    2. Tomás Cubelli  10. Christian Lealiifano  11. Joe Tomane  12. Matt Toomua  13. Tevita Kuridrani  14. Henry Speight  15. Aidan Toua

      Reserves
    3. Josh Mann-Rea  17. Scott Sio  18. Leslie Leulua’iali’i-Makin  19. Jordan Smiler  20. Jarrad Butler  21. Michael Dowsett  22. Andrew Smith  23. Nigel Ah Wong

  • Lots of talent in that team but worried about the inexperienced midfield combo.

And will be tested against a solid Wallaby combo in Toomua and TK.

Last season the Brumbies were very successful using the "rolling" maul to score tries. It's largely the same pack so I'd be expecting the same.

  • Will be interesting to see if the new interpretations on the rolling maul impact the Brumbies.

  • Ive been watching the Hurricanes preseason documentary on foxtel here is Aust which has got me excited about the start of the season. Plenty of new faces. While its a big hole to fill in midfield they have some decent options to try. Hopefully one of them comes off.

  • Amazing how Motu is always injured when Coles is.

  • I thought Motu had gone overseas or am i mistaken?

  • I thought Motu had gone overseas or am i mistaken?

No, he's still in the squad.

  • Ah cool, must have been thinking about how he had played for samoa so was no longer nz eligible and transferred that to leaving nz all together. Look forward to seeing him breaking people in half again this season.

  • Look forward to seeing him breaking people in half again this season.

That's if he isn't broken himself of course 🙂

  • J Savea looks a little heavy
The Canes jerseys are somewhat blinding - and is that even grass?
Leali'fano evens it uo at 3-3 so far

  • That Canes kit is hideous! Looks like short dungarees from behind.

Hah, I like it! Saw the yellow and black jersey when I was home, that's definitely hideous.

I was thinking the same thing. Unless they gave him a small outfit to wear.

  • I was thinking the same thing. Unless they gave him a small outfit to wear.

J Savea looks the same as last year. Oh.

  • Canes defence appears a little porous, as they allow Bumboys easy metres to score - they;ll need to sort that quicksmart

  • Fuck do Aus not have any other comms team? "Scrums are a mess" Why because the Canes pushed the Bumboys off the ball?

  • Anyone else finding the camera angles hard to watch. Either way wide so it feels like watching from the back of the stands on half way or low and zoomed right in so feels like you are watching from centre.

  • Comms fucking me off as much as the Canes weak defence

  • Anyone else finding the camera angles hard to watch. Either way wide so it feels like watching from the back of the stands on half way or low and zoomed right in so feels like you are watching from centre.

Thought I was the only one hahaha

  • We are getting done out there.

Yup, I noticed that a bunch of times they should have been using a wide shot and they're using a tight one ...  it has improved as the game has gone on though.

  • A training run try for the Ponies.

  • Well shit.

  • Julian has started the season looking like he could shed a few kilos again

  • The comeback is on!

  • Our forward pack has been completely outclassed. Nothing much you can expect our backs to do.
