Willie the weka's journey

  • Joined the Gym over the weekend - signed up for the 12 week challenge.

    Day one today:

6am: Body pump class - fark talk about sweat!!

Doing the eating plan as well, six meals - crips that's going to take some organisation.

Fridge has never seen so much fruit n vege. Took out the heinies too, sob, put them in cupbard.

Aim is to see how long can last without a beer. some exercise and eating plan and the weight should hopefully fark off.

Going to gym tonight for play around on rower and suss out my weights programme for tommorrow.

  • Weka - challenge on re the beer and booze front, and well done that man, knew if I 'outed you' you would have to come clean....Â

  • Come on willie - starting weight, height, and all that shite.

  • Cheers Nick.

Opening weight 99.7kg Height solid 5ft 10 - still hate the cm measures.

Gym reckon blokes can lose anything between 10 - 20kg depending on how hard they work and obviously how fat they where to start. I'd love to end this under the 90kg, that and hit under 90 in golf. Think i'll have more show at the gym.

Went to Gym this morning, for the RPM class, a bike ride from hell, if the instructer wasn't such a utter hottie I would have given in.

    Weights sess tonight.

Food is going really well, cookin dinner and next days lunch at same time.
Brekkie is just porridge n green milk to mix
    m/t is an apple
lunch peice chicken no skin, 1/3 cup rice, 2 cups veges
    a/t another apple
dinner 1 x peice fish - baked, 1/3 cup pasta, 2 cups vege
    supper 1 x banana

    pick up the supplements tonight.

2 days now bart without a any alcohol. Drinkin a couple of Mizones per day, someone thought they had quite a bit of sugar? opinions on wether ok or just go for the straight H2o?

  • read the label Willie, read the label!!!!

Water best though, or if you like a bit of taste, no problem with diet soft drinks.

Diet Coke gets a hammering from Moi, along with the new Coke Zero, very tasty!!

  • Read the label yeah no problem - understanding the bloddy label - problem!!

Says 85kj per serve - what the?

  • how much sugar and shit - main thing - if most of those kilojpoules are made of sugar etc, than not that good...

  •
Look at the amount of sugar per 100mL and then compare it to your average soft drink. Easiest way is to go to the supermarket and compare them side by side. If I'm unable to obtain diet soft drinks then I'll mix 1 part soft drink to 5 parts water just to give it a tiny bit of flavour. But if you can find flavoured mineral water with low sugar content that is also good.

  • had a mate who used to mix coke 50/50 with water all the time.  Took the 'syrupness' out of it, worked a treat.  I'll do that sometimes with diet coke too as I demiolish a bottle of it each night!!

  • Bottle said 5g per 800ml :idiot2:

  • Soft drink is about 11g of sugar per 100mL just as a comparison

  • sweet, straight water it is then

  • What about sparkling mineral water, is that sugar free?  Ive liked  drinking that S.Pelligrino water since I lived in the UK.  Â

  • Yeah mostly Red Beard. That stuff is actually spring water for the most part, unlike some of the cheaper ones which are just filtered water bottled.

  • What the hell is wrong with water from the bloody tap, you nancy boys :nta Sometimes I add an ice cube for a bit of variation, but otherwise if it's good enough for MvJ it's good enough for everyone else!

  • Let us keep in mind that MvJ's alternative is "anything alcoholic" and we begin to see why water is so appealing

  • I add a bit of that kids drink 'thrifty' to give the tap water some taste MvJ, but otherwise, tap water is fine!!

Maybe you dont like it but believe me you are unlikely to miss a workout due to a hangover fuelled by Sparkling Mineral Water.Â

  • Day four: Sorry lads been away.

Day 3 was 6am Bodypump class. Sweated and puffed and arms are still way sore so must have been good.

Wise man told me, "pain is just weakness leaving the body"

    Diet was, Porriodge brekkie
    m/t apple
lunch chicken peice, 1/3 cup rice, 2 cups veges stirfry
    a/t apple
dinner went out with shark, NO ALCOHOL - fark that was tough!!! Had Calamari n salad, steak mushrooms, veges

    Day 4

Exercise: 6am RPM class - arse fells like bubba was my roomy in prison for awhile!!!

    Diet Porride
    m/t apple
    lunch sandwich on rie bread
    a/t club sandwich x 2
dinner fillet fish, rice n stirfry

Actually, I firmly believe that pain is just pain entering the body.

When you say no alcohol, I presume you are not also including Shark in this as his exercise log is decidedly lacking in entries. The lucky bastard!Â

  • You are correct MvJ, The shark had 6 Speights Stubbies and 2 bottles of primo smelling Red wine between himself and 2 customers.............I presume smelling the stuff is ok mr Bartman?

Side stepped a bullet last night as well, with after work drinkies, thankfully another collegue was felling sick so we bailed.

The food is going really well, eating this regular you don't get time to feel hungry. The exercise is really tough in that I had zero fitness base to start from so the bodies in total shock. If I can stay away from Shark reckon i'll last a wee while off the piss as well - shit this may work!!!!!

  • Day 5.

6am - willie rolled over and went back to sleep!! Roll on daylight saving ending so I get the extra hour!!

Food is all good, picked up the supplements.

    8am Porridge - green milk
    10am apple and protein shake
12ish Filled roll and "Thermo trim Max" tablet
    3pm apple and protein shake
6ish Chicken peice 2cups veges and Thermo tablet
    8pm Banana

Instructor has cut the carbs after middday, should be ok in that i haven't been felling hungry with eating every couple of hours. Water is going well.

Will make up for pathetic effort this morning with a jog run walk tommorrow on the off day.

  • so you are not keen to partake in the BartMan suicide rowing challenge I have arranged for Saturday while we watch cricket, com games, super 14 and 6N Mr Weka, shame on you...

  • Week two of the 12 week journey.

Weekend was all good for sticking to the food plan.

Exercise was zero, even missed the Gym Boby combat session this morning!

Have promised to go to the Gym tonight and get back into exercise plan.

  • Missed the gym last night as well

Got my shit together this morning and got down to the RPM class, sweated up a storm!! Fully soked tea shirt and puddle on the floor!! Was awesome.

Must be getting a little fitter, cause I lasted the whole deal.

Food went really well yesterday, supplements being a protein shake for morning and afternnon tea and a "Thermo Trim max" tablet with lunch.

Pants feel a littel looser, belt buckle hasn't moved but shit it is only day 9!!

Spoke to the trainer about the Mizone, pump, h2o thing, she reckoned just carry on drinking the Mizone, cause although it's got some sugar it won't slow me down too much and it tastes shit loads better....

  • yeah, I expect it beats the shit out of a bottle of Coke too (just ask Donsteppa  ).

  •

Oi! I get stuck into the Mizone's too. (Just they're as well as coke...)

  • Willie missed the Gym again this morning......I thought the extra hour in the mornings would make getting up at 5.30 easier - guess what - it still feels like the middle of the night when the alarm goes off!!

    Promised myself to go tonight!!

Food plan is all good, just not feeling hungry, cause every couple of 3 hours you are eating something.

Belt has gone in one rung!!!!

Weight in is only once every month so still 2 1/2 weeks to see if anything has happened in that department.

2 1/2 weeks off the piss now 👏

  • I thought it was 1 and a half...?  ANyway, managed to get through last Friday night with no drinking at the Rugby Club.

  • Farrrrk, it is only 1 1/2 weeks!! Good fells longer than that?

looked at the diary, if i can avoid getting on it with shark this weekend in Taupo, reckon I'll be sweet for the month........

  •
My advice: Avoid Taupo and/or shark wherever possible

Shark senses this may be an opportunity for Bart to make some ground up on the Weka, as surely there is NO WAY the Weka can avoid getted on the raz for two nights in Taupo with his new customer?. FYI to the Weka, Shark and another rep will be OTP in Taupo tomorrow night and he'd better hope Shark and said fellow rep will be out OTP as opposed to at the apartment OTP eagerly awaiting the Weka's arrival as said rep is a HUGE drinker...

  • Bart can ive an exception for Thursday and Friday night? It's work honest.............. :idiot2:

  • mate, it's your 'non drinking' binge, not  mine  :nta

Maybe instead you could chug down a pint of WILLPOWER and be true to yourself!

  • Although I am sure Saturday night, Mokey and JPs wedding, will see myself drink a toast or tow to the happy couple

  • Wow that's come around quick! Hopefully Mokey isn't saying the same

  • Willie feel completely off the wagon on Friday. A solid 5.00pm - 1ish effort and totally leggess. Backed it up with bad eating and zero exercise!!

Back on it today, Body combat class 6am.

Eating plan back in order. Promised self to attend Gym tonight also and tomorrow's RPM class and extra night session to make up for disappointing but totally enjoyable weekend.

  • hey Weka, ahd a few beverages on Saturay night at the wedding and between wedding and the function thing.  not quite legless, although rumour has it was spotted dancing....
