Willie the weka's journey

  • Joined the Gym over the weekend - signed up for the 12 week challenge.

    Day one today:

6am: Body pump class - fark talk about sweat!!

Doing the eating plan as well, six meals - crips that's going to take some organisation.

Fridge has never seen so much fruit n vege. Took out the heinies too, sob, put them in cupbard.

Aim is to see how long can last without a beer. some exercise and eating plan and the weight should hopefully fark off.

Going to gym tonight for play around on rower and suss out my weights programme for tommorrow.

  • Weka - challenge on re the beer and booze front, and well done that man, knew if I 'outed you' you would have to come clean....Â

  • Come on willie - starting weight, height, and all that shite.

  • Cheers Nick.

Opening weight 99.7kg Height solid 5ft 10 - still hate the cm measures.

Gym reckon blokes can lose anything between 10 - 20kg depending on how hard they work and obviously how fat they where to start. I'd love to end this under the 90kg, that and hit under 90 in golf. Think i'll have more show at the gym.

Went to Gym this morning, for the RPM class, a bike ride from hell, if the instructer wasn't such a utter hottie I would have given in.

    Weights sess tonight.

Food is going really well, cookin dinner and next days lunch at same time.
Brekkie is just porridge n green milk to mix
    m/t is an apple
lunch peice chicken no skin, 1/3 cup rice, 2 cups veges
    a/t another apple
dinner 1 x peice fish - baked, 1/3 cup pasta, 2 cups vege
    supper 1 x banana

    pick up the supplements tonight.

2 days now bart without a any alcohol. Drinkin a couple of Mizones per day, someone thought they had quite a bit of sugar? opinions on wether ok or just go for the straight H2o?

  • read the label Willie, read the label!!!!

Water best though, or if you like a bit of taste, no problem with diet soft drinks.

Diet Coke gets a hammering from Moi, along with the new Coke Zero, very tasty!!

  • Read the label yeah no problem - understanding the bloddy label - problem!!

Says 85kj per serve - what the?

  • how much sugar and shit - main thing - if most of those kilojpoules are made of sugar etc, than not that good...

Look at the amount of sugar per 100mL and then compare it to your average soft drink. Easiest way is to go to the supermarket and compare them side by side. If I'm unable to obtain diet soft drinks then I'll mix 1 part soft drink to 5 parts water just to give it a tiny bit of flavour. But if you can find flavoured mineral water with low sugar content that is also good.

  • had a mate who used to mix coke 50/50 with water all the time.  Took the 'syrupness' out of it, worked a treat.  I'll do that sometimes with diet coke too as I demiolish a bottle of it each night!!

  • Bottle said 5g per 800ml :idiot2:

  • Soft drink is about 11g of sugar per 100mL just as a comparison

  • sweet, straight water it is then

  • What about sparkling mineral water, is that sugar free?  Ive liked  drinking that S.Pelligrino water since I lived in the UK.  Â

  • Yeah mostly Red Beard. That stuff is actually spring water for the most part, unlike some of the cheaper ones which are just filtered water bottled.

  • What the hell is wrong with water from the bloody tap, you nancy boys :nta Sometimes I add an ice cube for a bit of variation, but otherwise if it's good enough for MvJ it's good enough for everyone else!

  • Let us keep in mind that MvJ's alternative is "anything alcoholic" and we begin to see why water is so appealing

  • I add a bit of that kids drink 'thrifty' to give the tap water some taste MvJ, but otherwise, tap water is fine!!

Maybe you dont like it but believe me you are unlikely to miss a workout due to a hangover fuelled by Sparkling Mineral Water.Â

Actually, I firmly believe that pain is just pain entering the body.
