I was sad to hear of Dr Walkers passing. I remember reading his book Ka Whawhai Tonu Matou: Struggle without End, which provided a Maori perspective on NZ history

In addition to his scholarship he was a thoroughly decent man.

Sadly, my ignorance was highlighted by his death.
I had never heard of him but am now reading snippets of his work etc. He is pretty remarkable

Didn't know he was part Lebanese , always struck me as someone who would have been a formidable opponent .

Wow, Martin Crowe and Ranginui Walker both pass away and I don't even know - crazy how reliant we are are on the internet these days.
I must have quoted him 100s of times as an undergraduate.
