I think it’s quite significant that last week’s captain, Tendai Mtawarira, who questioned the refs impartiality during the game, has been left out of the 23. It seems the Sharks’ coaching staff wasn’t so happy about his performance either.

  • Nice seeing Hames name on the bench, to balance out the 'who dat' with Boshier.

That's a long injury list but that pack looks bloody good minus a Japanese prop.

  • Yanashita? Fuck

  • Not considered for selection: Nepo Laulala, Mitchell Karpik, Augustine Pulu, Johan Bardoul, Pauliasi Manu, Sam Henwood, James Lowe, Tevita Koloamatangi, Charlie Ngatai, Michael Allardice, Tom Sanders, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Maama Vaipulu, Atu Moli and Glen Fisiiahi

    Some talent missing there

  • Can not see the Chiefs losing this based on what the Sharks offered against 14 men for 65 minutes last Friday

  • Planning to go to this one. Very keen to see this wonderkid Dmac in action. Hope it's a decent enough crowd to get us the Canes v Chiefs game next year, the Warriors playing here in a few weeks might drop the numbers..well only for those who bought Warriors tickets before the Storm

I assume you mean Chiefs v Canes? Canes v Chiefs will always be played in Wellington because the Hurricanes only offer the less interesting games to stadiums outside Wellington. And then obviously in their own catchment area. They'll probably offer the Sunwolves game to Napier or PN.  :negative:

  • Sam Henwood injured again? That guy is always injured.. Poor bugger

  • Taleni Seu is one exciting prospect. I don't recall any game where he fails to impress. Totally deserves the starting berth. Also hoping for Anton lienert brown to replicate his pre-injury form.
Chiefs should get a bonus point victory here, injuries or no. Can't see the Sharks stopping the Chiefs from getting their usual 4+ tries.

  • Fark no Ngatai? hope he recovers soon - he offers so much in the midfield...and I think part of the reason the young guys are sparking and playing so well

  • Hopefully the silver lining with Ngatai is that a couple of weeks off will freshen him up for the last half of the tournament. we also know from previous years that the AB selectors are swayed far more by performances in the knockout stages when the can observe players under pressure.

So far the Chiefs have managed admirably with dealing with injuries in the squad. You do have to wonder whether it can continue though.

Of this list if you strike out the ones that won't be seen again there are some names to come back for the latter part.

Nepo Laulala, Mitchell Karpik, Augustine Pulu (may get a run in a game before joining the 7s again due to TKBs injury), Johan Bardoul, Pauliasi Manu, Sam Henwood, James Lowe, Tevita Koloamatangi, Charlie Ngatai, Michael Allardice, Tom Sanders, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Maama Vaipulu, Atu Moli and Glen Fisiiahi

  • 50 seconds and Tamanivalu is in.

  • Cruden's kicking, gets an easy one right out in front.

  • That was very nice

  • That was tough by pollock

  • Yeah, seems pretty stupid to call that back, he was close enough.

    Chiefs 10-3 anyway

  • Pollock didn't pull up the sharks on their quick tap from the lineout penalty - pedantic little twat, never rated him

  • Now I'm in the correct thread...That was tough by pollock Nah, you can't let players start taking the piss.

  • call for the ball!!
