This is exactly why they over react in the media and misrepresent what people are actually saying. So when somebody does a google search they get their shrieking, not what the person actually said.
That's why Petersen does the long videos and puts them out for people to see, and is now thinking about whether it serves any good purpose to appear on shows where he gets edited down.

@jegga yeah I posted those in the other thread a couple of weeks back after my wife (who is in the legal profession) sent them to me. The response article from the New Zealand Women’s Law Journal is embarrassingly bad - they even admit at one point they just did a "quick google search" to find out more about Peterson. How the hell did these people get Law degrees? Has the standard slipped that far?
Apparently so. Your suspicions should probably have been alerted when Golly G was called to the bar.

Speaking of Golly G , this backs up a lot of what that lawyer said about her

I have a mate (lefty who is just starting to notice this stuff) who has just started following JP and publicly posted an article about him. Almost immediately two of his friends leapt on it to advise him the misogynist horrors of his book as well as his racist views linking to the full 'monk debate'. In both these posts his mates intimated that they had first hand knowledge to back up their points. Well having just read his book and having already listened to the debate in full I knew they were full of shit. I gave my thoughts and no response thus far.
That's the thing that really troubles me. Its one thing to read and believe a headline or a hit job but its quite something different to lie about what you're read or seen in order to lead someone astray and prevent them from drawing their own conclusions. I guess its the whole 'Ends justify the means argument'.
Also a benefit of reading some of the 'Qu'ran' (halfway) is that I know immediately when people are lying about having read it..a surprising number do. So important to do your own reading.

Eugenie Sage gave the go ahead to a water bottling company that has been in trouble previously for having 5 times The allowable amount of arsenic in its water. When a reporter asked why, this was her response ( remember she’s a lost mp)
When asked whether the OIO should have proactively sought the status of the legal action, Sage responded: “If you want to sit in this seat than perhaps you should stand for election.”

The minister for open government sacked for lying and covering things up.
For fucks sakes.

What exactly is the Ministry of Government Digital Services and does it warrant paying a ministerial salary of god knows how much not to mention all the add on perks like free housing, cars etc etc along with staff to staff the ministry? Oh and all the add on things like white coats and clip boards so essential to justify having so many staff!
I suppose you could ask similar questions about the Ministry of Open Government.

Maybe they should hold an enquiry into what it does?

Herald and Stuff doing their best to bury the headlines about it...
- "Rates bills for Churches a bloody debacle"
- Peter Dutton
- "Illegal water bottling"
- "Let Greg be the reason we change.
Surprised they didn't find a Max Holmes headline to run...

$248,839 a year as a Minister outside Cabinet. Cabinet ministers earn $296,007. Which is $7k per year more that Teresa May gets paid to handle the sharknado that is the UK PM's job.
I suppose you could ask similar questions about the Ministry of Open Government.
Yes you could but she would almost certainly redact the answers. Can there be a worse combination for such a position as incompetent and obstructive?
As for the lightish punishment handed out, is that anything to do with the fact that Curran and Sparkly McBabymaker were flatmates?

Lizzy Marvelly has a book out so they are sorted for a while on that front

I don't think many people would be interested in Manning. Apparently theres an existing law that prohibits people from making money from their crimes, so I wonder if Manning would bother if there isn't going to be a dollar in it?
If you actually have interest in learning more about Manning you could read these instead
