Did I just hear that Cinders is going to be on Stephen Colbert's show later this week? Please no.
The lefties in the States that love Identity Politics are absolutely lapping up Jacinda being a woman and a mother while PM.
I'd get pretty tired of it if I were her. Those two things appear to be her defining features over there.

Sounds pretty sexist to me.....

@no-quarter Honestly, if I was the leader of a country and people only wanted to talk to me about baby, I'd be pretty fucking concerned.

Right about now I think she’ d rather talk about her baby than her honesty, her MPs , her policy and being “ the most open govt ever “.
Also like a lot of comedians Colbert turned into a complete bore when Trump got elected . If she goes on that show she’s just preaching to his shrinking choir.

I’m not sure if anyone else has been following Eugenie Sages plans to cull Tahr in the South Island high country .
It was due to start this weekend but due to pressure from the hunting community and an impending injunction it’s been postponed.
No one argues that there’s too many Tahr but this retard wants to indiscriminately cull them based on animal numbers from the early 90s . The local guiding industry estimates that each foreign hunter who comes to NZ to take a bull pumps about $14000 into the local economy..
Sage is also coming after trout andjet boats too, can’t wait for the opportunity to vote these fuckwits out.
Forest and bird and in particular former green mp Kevin Hague can fuck right off as they are trying to ger the Greens to get the forests and rivers returned to their pre European state.
End rant

Cuse my ignorance ... what is mesnt by Waka Jumping?
Switching parties outside of an election , it’s the only reason the Greens and Winston first exist and they just voted to stop it happening again
Seems to be a recurring theme amongst our most amoral politicians , Jim Anderton who ditched labour to start his own party squealed like a stuck pig when Alamein Kopu did the same thing to his party. He insisted on a Waka jumping bill as part of his pricefor supporting Helen Clark’s government. They had to amend it later so he could ditch the Alliance and start another party .
Him and Winston would be the two most awful self serving fluffybunnies to be in parliament since Muldoon.

Thanks @canefan @jegga. I think I kind of assumed the gist of it.
So if an MP wants out there's a byelection?
On first glance I agree that a list MP should remain bound to the party. They got in only on the basis of the electorate voting for the party not the person.
Does it apply to an electorate MP as eell? Geiven thry are a person as well as (potentially) aparty member?

Quite the PR coup for Ardern to be addressing the UN at the same time as the Kavanaugh “sexual assault” testimony. I can’t imagine she’s going to get much coverage when up against that. Except here of course, our news networks have convinced themselves that she has transformed into a major power broker. Because the heavy hitters all look to Colbert for their political intel.

I’m not convinced even list MPs should be bound to their party like this , the hypocrisy of the Greens voting for it over the wishes of the party’s founders is pretty astounding too . Also there this

@jc Cindy is wowing all the world leaders with her great words and our media is lapping it up like the pathetic puppies they are.
Both she and Whinny are getting such a free ride in comparison to the scrutiny Nation had on them from the media.

IIRC the Nats got a reasonably smooth ride in their first term. But they were a pretty capable bunch after a near miss the election before, not like the dumpster fire we have now
